here's another review on the new FX-53. all i can say is WOW! the chip's is just awesome but what struck me even more is the performance of it's little brother, the mobile 2500+ overclocked. makes me wish i bought a mobile instead. you'll see why. :(

check it out here: FX-53 review

note:
currently @ Newegg

AMD Mobile Athlon XP 2500+ =$93
AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 =$850

LOL thats very nice yo see an overclocked 90$ CPU getting benchmark results close to a 850$ one... ;)
anyway, I don't think anyone would buy the FX53 right now, unless he's either very stupid, or he just has a few millions of bucks running around in his bank account...
btw, can someone please explain me how come that even with their newest and most expensive CPU, AMD still can't reach Intel's performance in video or image editing?

Well thats a bit odd... they claim to have an OCd Pentium 4 EE Prescott... There is no such chip. The 3.4EE is a Northie.

that website has been confirmed to be fake numerous times...

btw, i wasnt referring to their system, i was referring to a prommy ;)

Hmm, if I were upgrading today, and had money to set fire to (which is rarely the case) I would go with an FX-53, otherwise that $90 Mobile Barton 2500+ is looking like a remarkably attractive upgrade from my AXP2000+.

Joe, a decent hsf is enough to get 2.5ghz out of the mobile Bartons.

Just confirming the outrageous pricing... yeah, I have doubts about the go-l website, but it LOOKS more legit than MICHAEL's fastest computers ;)

With Prometeia you'll get mobile barton up to 3 GHz and that will beat the crap out of FX-53. Plus you'll save about $150.
