i give them a buck.

it doesn't take me long to earn it, they need it more than i do,
they're incredibly grateful, and nobody would choose that kind of life.

you'd be surprised at what a little kindness can do.

OK, send me one to give them.
I'd sooner throw a dollar away than give it to some pan-handler.

GET A FVCKING JOB YOU PAN HANDLING MOFO'S

Today like 30 min ago I had one in a Fubu Jacket, come to me while me and my roommate was at checkers picking up some food.
I said no, and as soon as he starts walking away, he sees another car across the street at Wendy's and chased the car for money.

Good thing that I stopped carrying around real money. Now all I carry around is a debit card.

Can't you just let your daddy have a buck or two?

Most of my money goes to your mommy and your sister.
The things that I put through them, they deserve it.

Panhandling is now legal here in our city and I think it's one of the worst moves our government has made. People are on every corner downtown, and they'll even come into businesses, the universities and churches to beg. My biggest problem is that these panhandlers can get downright pushy and some even act as though it's their right to demand money. I don't have a problem with helping people out, but you've also got to consider why these people are out on the street. I am not saying this is the case for all panhandlers, but if they were able to manage their money correctly, would they be begging? One good thing the city has done though is implement this key program. You buy a key for $2, and if someone tries to beg for money for food or something, you give them the key. It gives them directions to a shelter where it can be exchanged for a meal, a new set of clothes and a shower. The money goes into programs to get these people off the streets and living normal lives like the rest of us.

You know what's really ironic though? First our government legalizes panhandling, then they put posters all over the city warning citizen's that "7 in every 10 panhandlers will use your money to feed an addiction". What's up with that?

They are trying to make it illegal or require a permit to panhandle here. It's getting so bad that they are at all your major traffic lights, walking along the island begging for money...

At least they aren't as bad as the Shriners though. Those mofo's will actually walk up next to your car and knock on the window

how is he a jerk? its his money. he can do whatever he wants with it. and besides, most of these panhandlers are able bodied people who can find a job easily if they tried harder. atleast try to sell something like the sidewalk vendors in nyc, instead of jsut flat out asking for free money

You just got Spoooon fed :p

Damn, a lot of you guys are cold. If somebody asks me for change I'll give them what's in my pocket or maybe I'll give them a dollar if I have a single. A couple weeks ago I gave some guy a dollar and he offered me a hit of crack:Q Needless to say, I turned him down, but thanked him regardless.

Carry around burger bucks or something to give instead of hard $. That way you know they won't spend it on crack/whores/beer. or crackwhores and beer.

They are all over the place, they smell like sh|t and piss, and they don't leave you alone. It's like a scene from Dawn of the Dead, with the lifeless corpse zombies shuffling through the mall.
They were just guys on there way to a LAN party sponsered by Toms Hardware.

before they say anything to you, walk up to them first and say "can you spare me some change, i just lost my job"

thanks to shrub it won't be far from reality.

the alternative is to watch American Psycho and then hire a bunch of bums to do Fight Club for you and video tape it, but that's already been done and that guy got arrested

I get "accosted" about every day myself and don't mind. Bums are people too, if I've got some change I'll help somebody out and if I don't a simple "Sorry man" is all I've ever needed. The other posters who won't even look a motherfvcker in the eye to tell them that they won't give them any spare change are the real horrid sacks.

Why would someone feel sorry for not carrying change ?
I use to give out change and what not until one of em said, "That's it ?" when I gave him the change I had.
After that BS, they can all starve for all I care. If one of em is disabled or something, that's a different story, but all the bums i've seen were healthy 28-45 males.

If somebody ever said "That's it?" to me I'd probably say "You're lucky I gave you that". That being said, all of the times that I don't have anything to give somebody I've always gotten a "thanks anyway". You've got some picky bums in your area apparently.

Well, if I wanted to help people in need, there are a BUNCH of worthy charities out there that work hard everyday to help people get back on their feet and have better lives.

I will never give a bum money again after I gave a guy a dollar and I see him use the same sap story on my roommate 5 minutes later in college. Chances are that they're just con artists with no self-respect or dignity. They're the friggin type of fscktard @$$hats that took out claims for 9-11 money when they were in no way involved. :|

EDIT: when I had money and a decent job, I did give time and money to Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army.

Yeah I dont give out change any more. I had this one pan handler ask me for change because he was thirsty and wanted to get a drink. I had just come out of a 7-11 and bought a snapple drink. I gave it to him. Do you know what he did with it? He threw it away into the garbage can. It was unopend brand new just bought too. :/ Also I see a lot of pan handlers that are nothing but con artists. Some here are honest though. They say can you spare some change so I can buy some beer. Others just use the money for drugs, smokes, or alcohol.

One scam ive seen is someone will say can u spare some money for gas. Im a long ways home and out of gas. He will either have a car or a gas can. Of course you give him the money and they dont fill up. Ive seen the same car do the same thing at the same location several times :/

While I was waiting for the bus today I guy was walking around the bus stop asking people if they had "a couple dollars" or "five dollars".

The inflation on crack rocks must have been stiff recently

Honestly it's not the panhandlers that just ask outright for spare change. It's the ones who try to pass it off as needing gas money, or bus fare, or whatever else. Also the ones who try to sell you sh!t, and then get mad at you when you don't want to buy them. That happens a lot here in Chicago.
