Fvcking Kids

"Children as young as 7 or 8 can be seen smoking and drinking beer in the evening"

wtf...disgusting parenting...

Yeah I read about this on SomethingAwful yesterday... sure was something awful to do to the kid *rim shot* but luckily that guy came in and saved the day.

This is called piss-poor parenting. Children should know not to do this by the time they can walk. They all deserve to have the sh!t kicked out of them, along with their parents.

I'd like to think that if I was that father, I'd have layed the disabled kid out on the ground after getting him out of the fire, dialed 911, tossed him the cell (assuming he could communicate) and immedialtey gone after the kids to detain them. Any resistance would be met with skull crushing force.

Police describe the run-down public housing complex as a high-crime area. Mr. Bird and others who live here say gangs of children roam the neighbourhood unsupervised in the evenings. The 12-year-olds encourage the younger ones to fight each other for entertainment, Mr. Bird said. Children as young as 7 or 8 can be seen smoking and drinking beer in the evening, he added. Arson is a regular occurrence.

wonderful.

they need to get beat severely. over and over. :Q

Is it possible to save children brought up in such a way? Or should we invoke a modest proposal, of sorts? 🙁

I say do the same thing to them, except let them try to get out. I hope these parents get a knock down from other parents in Winnipeg. It could have been their child in there.

I concur

From the article:
"It was early evening in the Gilbert Park public housing complex in Winnipeg's north end, and smoke from fires set by neighbourhood kids curled among the two-storey concrete townhouses."

Lol, makes it sound like this is an everyday normal occurence.

someone needs to be held responsible. either put the kids on trial as adults, or throw the parents in jail.

Mr. Bird said he's disgusted that the children responsible for Brian's ordeal won't face judicial sanction. Since they are all younger than 12, they can't be charged with a crime under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Instead, they will be referred to programs to alter the behaviour of young people in trouble with the law.

Bet that will work.

Why try to kill the kid? I mean...he is handicapped...a wedgie may be in order, of course, but locking him in a burning shed? Sheesh...

Seriously, though, it said it happened in a neighborhood consisting of public housing. The poorest of the poor probably live there. I would assume that 2-parent households are extremely rare in that neighborhood and in most cases, the father is the absent parent. More than likely, the kids are being raised by the streets more than family. The mother is probably struggling to make ends meet at a minimum-wage job and is unable to be at home enough to provide effective parental guidance. This is the result.

It doesn't state the race of the kids in the article (or if it did, I missed it) so I can't say if the attack may have been racially motivated, too. However, had it been a black child in the shed with white kids, though, I bet the tone of the article would have been far different.

(Not trying to flame-bait here...just pointing out the hypocrisy in the mainstream media)
