Took United Express from SanFrancisco to the Monterey Peninsulla (Pebble Beach, and btw this area is the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life). The baggage got stuck in SFO so when it finally arrived in Monterey they put it in a cab and took it to our hotel for free. Wish I got that service at ORD.

It actually happened to me three times in a row in the past month

UA Osaka->Chicago->Harrisburg, didn't make it even though I had plenty of time in Chicago, delivered next afternoon

US Philadelphia->Boston, might be understandable since I did check in at 45min to departure, however, I had a last minute one-way ticket and they subject me to a non-random search, yet my bags aren't travelling with me? So messed up. Delivered that afternoon.

LH Boston->Frankfurt->Copenhagen, they made me check one of my carryons at the gate at Frankfurt, apparently didn't have time to load it. Got in at 9am, was told that it would arrive on the 2pm flight so I wait since I didn't have a hotel yet. At 4pm they still haven't found my bags, end up being delivered late next afternoon.
