Damn bastards lost my luggage, my mom's luggage AND my dad's luggage!! Bastards...I was waiting at the damn baggage claim for like 45 minutes until the last freakin' bag came out and then United Airlines rep comes over and claims that our baggage somehow got on another flight and they will deliver it to my house later tonight. I really hope they do or I'll...I'll...do the American thing and take 'em to court! :|

American < United < USAir < Delta < Continental

i only included companies i had experiences with.

Did you have short connecting flights? I had the same thing happen and they dropped my bags off the next day even though I was over 70 miles from the airport.

If you have interviews than go out and get something nice.

At the beginning of the interviews calmly explain your situation and how you adapted to it and used your resourcefullness.

guaranteed you'll get the job.

Anyone know what I can realistically do if they never deliver the luggage? Do they give me any sort of compensation?

I think I prefer Northwest Airlines over the rest. I don't recall ever having a bad experience flying NW Airlines.

the way I understand it.....(and I fly a BOATLOAD)

They'll get you your luggage. maybe early in the morning or the next day.

Hopefully you've already made a claim on it and have a tracking number, etc. That way they can deliver it to where your staying.

If it doesn't make it then they are liable up to a certain amount per bag (it ain't much)

In my experience they usually get it to you the next day.

flew United exclusively to Austin through Chicago about a dozen times last year. It was never an enjoyable experience. On the other hand, I've always had good service from Continental and American, and US Airways for transatlantic flights. But the absolute WORST is America Worst, I mean West.

Wrong. They cap the maximum compensation. Unless your bag is cheap, half-empty and only contains inexpensive clothes you'll never get close to the actual value of items lost. It's something like $200-$300 per bag max.

My golf bag got lost once, I was flying Houston to LaGuardia and had two checked bags, my regular suitcase made it on the right flight and my golf bag went to Baltimore. They got it to me the next day.

Just talked to a rep on the phone, he claimed the bags were on their way to my house right now and just left newark...which was about an hour and a half ago (My house = 1 hour from Newark at most). And I'm staying awake waiting for this delivery boy to arrive so I can sign for the bags. Hmmmmmm....:|
