Had that happen to me my freshman year in college. Except the exam was at 12:30 on a Saturday, and I went to bed at a reasonable time the night before. I figured there would be no way I would sleep that late, but I woke up and it was 12:45.

Even after being out of school, I still get occasional dreams about waking up late for an exam. It feels so awesome when you come through and you realize all that crap is in the past. ahhh

so I got up at around 1:50pm cursing furiously. I immediately go to see my professor. the test wasn't over until 2:45. My prof let me took it with 1 hour limit instead of 3 hours. I took that.

I think I did bad. :(

If it was a grammar final you are in trouble.

it was for econometrics, so basically ALL DUMBED DOWN MATH.

The stats used in undergraduate econometric is all dumbed down.

Lucky the prof still let you take it. I had some that wouldn't have. Plz indulge me...

I had one prof where I brought the wrong notebook to class that had should have had my homework in it and he wouldn't give me the 30 min it would take me to walk home after class and get the right one to turn it in. We're talking about an assignment that would have taken me 8-12+ hours to complete and the jerk wouldn't give me 30 min to go get it. B in Calc 2 isn't that bad I guess, but I should have had an A!!!

Another time, I had a practical exam in a CAD class. The thing lasted 3 1/2 hours. After about 2 1/2 hours, I'm like man I gotta whiz and the guy was all like if you leave you can't come back. I told him it's a drawing test, it's not like I'm gonna go across the hall and get someone else to draw the stupid widget. I finally decided I couldn't hold it anymore and told him I had to go and he could take my test as it was (incomplete). He proceeded to lecture me in front of the class about taking care of business before class and then let me go and return anyway.

Moral of the stories, been there done that feel for ya. Good luck on the part you did get to do!

I feel sorry for you. The prof should have given you more time, methinks, especially if it was the first time something like this happened. I mean, why fvcking ruin a person's grade/gpa/life.

Then again, I go to a school that is very lax about deadlines etc, so I can't see this happening here.

sleep is more important than studying

if need to be up all night before an exam you probably arent going to do well regardless

I occassionally have nightmares where I stop going to a class for the entire semester, or I forget to go to the class everyday, somehow, so I screw my grade or I barely make it in time to take the final. Bleh.

Congratulations! You just lived the classic Freshman nightmare. The good news is you'll never do it again.

Hah, almost did that once. Except I completely forgot that the exam was in the morning. In the morning, while half asleep, I was thinking to my self "wouldn't it be funny if the exam was in the morning instead of evening...". I got really paranoid so I went and checked and nearly sh!t a brick when I found out the exam starts in 30 mins. Had to rush my ass to downtown and was about 20 mins late but I finished on time. Public transportation, for once, got me there in under 30 mins, while it normally takes anywhere from 45 - 50mins.

LOL. I remember organic my freshman year. The teacher was a real BB, it was the last year they let him teach it cause he flunked like 80% of the class and all the pre-med students were crying. I studied really late, went to class, sat down and wondered where everyone was. The prof came in, asked me what I was doing there. Turns out I got my times mixed for Psych 101 and Organic mixed up. I didn't study at all for psych, in fact I'd missed the last 2 lectures and I was planning on listening to the tapes after my organic exam. I was about an hour late for a 2-hour exam, my previous grades pulled me through for an A in the class (but got a B in organic, my brain was so fried when I went in to take that test). It happens, reduce your partying you'll be fine.

Never had anything that bad happen to me, except a couple of times I got the date of the test mixed up, so I walked in, sat down, and we got the test handed out, and I was all WTF?!

At least you made it, a similar thing happened to me in my Calc 3 class two semesters ago except it was a regular test. I ended up dropping the class due to that. You'll live I'm sure you did ok...at least you got to take it (I never did). What class was this? I've never heard of a 3 hour final...
