FVCK!, I overslept

this is like the worst thing that can happen. I supposed to have my final at 11:45am. I studied the whole night. At around 7 or 8, I decided to take an hour nap but forgot to set my friiking alarm clock.

so I got up at around 1:50pm cursing furiously. I immediately go to see my professor. the test wasn't over until 2:45. My prof let me took it with 1 hour limit instead of 3 hours. I took that.

I think I did bad.

edit: don't worry, it was an econometrics final, not english.

Never, I mean never take a nap so close to a final like that if you stayed up all night studying. You will be so exhausted that you will have a hard time getting up (even if you get up, your mind will be groggy), as well as forgetting to set the alarm like this instance.

Just stay up next time or study in moderate portions and get good sleep.

I was talking about how 1230 finals rock because of their timing, and so I set my alarm for 10am. I woke up at 1215. Thank goodness my final is at 5 and not at 1230. Wewt.

same thing happened to me, but it was with a project, stayed up all night working on it and printed it at 6am, then went home showered set my alarm for 10 and went to sleep (class was at 11)......well i wake up and it's 2pm!!!!!!! (later on i find out from my roommate that i stood up walked across the room to turn off alarm clock and went right back to bed, no recollection of this) class was just over and i call my prof, she said that it was cool, because everybody in class told her that i was with everybody else when i finished at the computer lab (basically printed and went home like everybody else) so she just said to bring it down and she would grade it as if i turned it in with everybody, thank God for good friends who stuck their neck out for me.

i did well on many exams with 3-4 hrs of sleep, and im sure there are a lot of other people who can say the same

In this case you gotta BS for partial credit.
Just write down formulas or arguements that may be applicable to the problem, and see what sticks for partial credit.
What class was that?

Yea you acn. I got 2 hrs of sleep once. I downed 3 starbucks doubleshots and had an iced latte. The result was I got 2 hrs of sleep and my final was 8 - 11am. I never really got real sleep from 4 - 6 am but oh well. I was so jittery. I got took my exam and I tried to sleep at 1130. I failed to sleep. I played CS. I played Quake 4. I played till 6pm and then I FINALLY collapsed for 3 hours (6 - 9pm).

You can go for an aweful long time with coffee. MY mind was so into the final. I aced that shizzle.

Eh I had a 10:00 AM final in 2002. I thought it was a 12:00 final. I went upstairs to do some last minute cramming with another guy in the class. HE wasn't there. I got paranoid, checked the schedule and sprinted all the way across campus. I got there out of breath at 10:45 and was the first one to finish at 11:30. I got a B+ in that class, and I went in with an 86% average, so my final was of high quality work too.



Oh and all the people who said that you shouldn't spen all night cramming are right. Just learn you shtt, you will need it at some point (if only for an interview).

I did that once myself. Lucky for me, the final was 50 questions, multiple choice test. Finished in 25 minutes.
