You haven't answered my question:

Why am I not entitled to keep more of the money I earn?

Gore says that I don't deserve my own money.

Bush says I do.

Gore is just another socialist who wants to make government the Nation's secular RELIGION. He feels (and so do you losers) that we should all kneel five times a day facing Washington D.C. and give thanks to the Great God of Government for all the blessings it bestows. Remember: The is no such thing as "government money", it's all OUR money and every cent that they "give" to you was TAKEN from someone who produced it.

McCain is a total tool. His bright idea is to disarm conservatives in the name of "reform". No thanks, Buddy. Charlie must be controlling him. He's no hero. Getting shot down and being a POW isn't heroic. A lot of guys got POWed and you're not supporting them. McCain was a total media creation. The PEOPLE didn't support him. I'm a Libertarian Anarchist and didn't vote for him. Heck, I don't think Bush is conservative enough!

Gore must NOT be allowed to come to power for he wil DESTROY the very prosperity he claims credit for. WAKE UP!!!!

I see a lot of jelious people out here, we have people who dont make as much as someone else so they think that person who makes more then them should get screwed, they thing that because McCain did everything he could to appease them that he is the best thing since sliced bread, but they cannot get over the fact that they lost. Why are all these people still complaining about the fact that they lost, you might not have worked as hard as you could in school, or McCain didn't run his campaign right, just admit your wrong and move on with you lives, is that so hard?

Russ:

The hard core of the Republican Party, like Lott and Delay, do not trust campaign finance reform. I used them as representative examples, not intending to convey that they alone, in some Machiavellian fashion, brought this about. The belief is widespread that the GOP will be hurt and possibly destroyed by campaign finance reform. That kind of "think" worked its way down the ladder and became the conventional wisdom during the primaries. Free thinkers like Red are anathema to the Republican Party. See Dirk's post above.

A very good friend of mine is an Ohio Republican big whig and he says most Republicans were scared to death of McCain. They were afraid he would be a loose cannon. Conservative instincts took hold and we have the result. He is very happy with Bush. We'll see how happy he is in November. :p

chess9,

<< The hard core of the Republican Party, like Lott and Delay, do not trust campaign finance reform. >>

I sure as hell don't trust Bore to do it. He is the most prolific progenitors of nefarious fund-raising to come down the pike since Nixon. You are deluding yourself if you think he'd actually do anything about it.

The McCain-Feingold bill is a ruse and a hoax perpetrated on the ignorant masses. Any Constitutional scholar worth his or her salt will tell you that?s it?s dead as soon as it hits the October Nine. It would be overturned based on the First Amendment. They?ve already done it with a similar attempt to limit spending back in 1976.

<< That kind of "think" worked its way down the ladder and became the conventional wisdom during the primaries. >>

It did? How many Republican caucuses did you attend? I ran the caucus for 18 precincts in my area. Campaign finance reform was not even on the issues sheet. Neither was abortion, for that matter. You THINK that?s what happened because that's what the press TOLD you happened.

Hell, the average voter, Republican or democrat, really couldn?t give a rat?s pattut about campaign finance reform. It doesn?t even show up as one of the top ten issues in most polls.

<< Redistribution of wealth has NEVER worked. >>

Ahem, to certain extent it is actually working in my corner of the world.

Russ:

I haven't attended any Republican caucuses and if anyone catches me at any caucus feel free to shoot me on sight. (I served already) Of course campaign finance reform wasn't on any of your issue sheets! It was a dead issue well before the state caucuses. That's why McCain didn't have a prayer. Anyway, most of the voters don't know all the issues. They vote with their gut. Most Republicans couldn't tell you what was in the 1996 Republican Platform. Give me a break! Ask the average Republican what his party's view of NAFTA was in 1996 and his eyes will glaze over. Ditto for Democrats of course. They may even be worse, if that's possible.

My concern is that none of the national media has bothered to enlighten the American public to this fact. I see alot of expose' stuff about misleading ads.... and of anything, they should call Gore to the carpet for this.
