Future 7970 owners?

So, reviews are out on the 7970 and we know how it performs -- who's buying at least one (or trying to) on January 9?

I'm in for one 🙂

I'm probably in for one. Depends on availability, actual retail pricing, and if NV has anything interesting to show us at CES; but most likely I'll pick one up.

If I win >$1100 in a lottery while they're still the world's fastest single-GPU cards, I'll pick up a pair.

I'm down to get 1 maybe 2. I play at 2560x1600, which both 6970xfire and 580 sli struggle at in some games (ie witcher 2 w/ uber sampling, crysis 2 hd dx11, etc)

Worst case, i have a bunch of old gpu's I can sell to fund it sooo, nothing to lose 🙂

A pair of these suckers would just be...I'd...well, it's overkill for me since I'm at 1080P. Wish I had a 2560x1600 monitor...

Still, you're better-off than I am. I'm using a 1440*900 ViewSonic LCD that only has a VGA connector, and has a column of stuck pixels. xD
I'd probably be using them on my 1080p TV, though.

6950 was my first high end card, do I'll probably stick to that for a while. Maybe I'll upgrade to the Radeon HD 8000 series if that's s big jump. Also need a future PC game worth upgrading for, this gen of consoles is holding us back by quite a bit.

I'll be getting one barring any price gouging. Sold the 6950's a couple weeks ago and I'm using a 6870 in the interim.

Whenever you all start to get your cards, if you are into overclocking, please let us know what sort of clocks you are getting.

Hopefully afterburner will be updated soon to unlock voltage control.

I'm waiting for the mid-range version too, hoping to step up to 6870/6950 ballpark performance in the same power envelope as my current 5770.

I'll buy an HD7950 if it's about £250 at the end of March unless NV has something better for the price (which in the UK historically they havent had).

At the moment the HD7970 isn't really worth it since it WILL drop in price in a very few months, unless you are desperate it's a waste of money right now.

Might hop on one of these. Depends on when Kepler launches and how well it does. If anything, I'll wait until Kepler launches and wait for these to drop in a price a bit.
