Your answer basically said that the only reason who believe homosexual practices are wrong is because the Bible said so. In other words, you can find no fault with homosexuality outside of the Bible. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know EXACTLY what he is saying. And my responses to him were perfectly appropriate.

To appease his sense of right and wrong, homosexuals should live a life of celibacy.

It's a stupid position.

Everyone got this from the beginning. The whole problem with the argument is that in his view it's ok for him to make the choice to have sex with a woman, but it is not ok for a man to have sex with another man. And somehow that second choice implies these following situations:

"Family members are hurt, the person is hurt..." and "Should parents and other family members be hurt by someone being gay?" - Why are family members HURT? All families just break down and are hurt by a gay person among them? The person is hurt? What the heck is that?

And to compare that situation to "Should the wife be hurt that her husband cheated on her?" makes absolutely no sense.

The best part is that he states one point and argues another, making him a challenge to contradict.

Anyway, this thread snowballed out of control in the last couple pages.

Believe me when I say that I don't have much to spend my money on at this particular juncture in my life - my college tuition is paid for by my parents. When I have to support myself in a year and a half, I definitely wont be getting things as ridiculous as my signature.

The choice everyone is talking about is whether homosexuals choose to be gay or if they're born that way. Somehow, that notion was perverted to being a choice of acting on homosexual tendencies instead of a choice of whether one becomes gay. I'll never understand why people think it's a choice to be gay. Was it your choice to be straight? Do you think anyone honestly chooses to have major disadvantages in life?

Well then someone better call the big people factory in the sky because I sure as fvck didn't chose to be, nor has any gay person I've ever met. People (always non-gay) who continually insist that it is a choice, directly in the face of the quite sizable evidence to the contrary, really do amaze me to no end.

This is coming from an atheist, who apparently understands the word of "god" better than most of you thumpers in here. You're told multiple times that JUDGING people is not for you to do, and that all you must do to be a good moral person is to be kind and accepting. It's not for you to tell gays to "control" their impulses. Secondly, this damn book was written thousands of years ago by people. Not god. People. Imperfect, biased, partial, opinionated people. How in the HELL could you ever trust any single word from that book?

First off: There have been gay people in every culture since before written history... and at roughly the same percentage. If gay is learned, who traveled the world before world travel and taught all these people?

Secondly. I'm glad you think it is a choice. By doing so you have now committed yourself to proving this scientifically. This requires YOU turn gay. Not only must you sleep with the same sex, you must PREFER the same sex and be disgusted by the opposite sex.

If you can't choose to be gay to prove your argument, then being gay is not a choice.

Homosexuality is all about what a person NATURALLY prefers. It is not about sex acts, or religion, or bibles. It's about what a person is NATURALLY attracted to.

Plain hard truth was in the scriptures i pasted from the bible.....my thoughts....well that's self explainatory.....maybe you need to actually read the posts before witting.

The truth is what Is in the bible, whcih is my belief....I dont think a non beleiver can understand this.

I'm not gay, genius. And you know what? Not being gay and having a functioning brain are all I need to realize that homosexuality is NOT a "choice."

Maybe if you tried thinking for yourself instead of following a religion like a mindless lemming you'd figure this out too.

The bible is no more "truth" than any other religious text or myth. It's only truth to you because YOU "choose" to believe it.
