Funny Ebay Situation

A friend of mine sells various items like cd burners on ebay.... well everything was going fine until some lazy guy decided to steal the cd burner image and use it on his own page... well my friend emailed the guy asking him what was up and he responded, saying that he was lazy and didnt really care.. now my friends auction ends in like 2 days and the image is hosted on his own account... so basically today at work he figured that he would change the picture to something like a redneck farmer picking his nose the second his auction ends... and now anyone that decides to steal his picture is basically gonna be screwed because you cant change the html on the page.. you can only add to it...

- I will post a link to the auction when he changes the pic... that will teach the lazy bum not to steal others work...

He's using the image right now in his own auction and then when it's over he will change it so no one will be able to use it.
 
because if he changes his own picture he will ruin his own auction...it makes sense for him to change it just after his auction has ended.. the picture is linked directly into his own hosting.. and the guy who stole it for his auction just stole the direct link to it...

Absolutely - i use my webstat features to see which pics are being pulled from my server. If i see another ebay picture being pulled...i change it to soemthing they won't want on their auction.
 
yeah he was thinking about that.. but doesnt want to lose his ebay account or whatnot.. i think the redneck farmer picking his nose is good enough.. haha

Why would he lose his ebay account for putting gay porn on his own website?

It would be the other guy who lost his, your friend just has to act shocked that someone would steal pictures and bandwidth that HE is paying for.
 
I don't get it... the other guy didn't just save the image, then post it? He's actually hosting off of somebody elses account? That doesnt make sense....

Makes perfect sense to me -- why waste your own bandwidth and hard drive space when you can simply and easily leech someone else's? Fortunately, things like this (changing the image to porn or whatnot) are the upside to this situation. Something tells me that that guy will be very sorry for his action by the time his auction is over.
 
Alright hes the deal....

-He has a picture of a cd burner that he took with his own camera for the auction.... its hosted on his personal webspace
-The "lazy" guy stole a DIRECT link to the image... and put it in his code
-Once my friends auction ends.. hes gonna change it to a funny picture.. thus ruining the "lazy" guys auction because he cant go back into the auction and change it.. hes gonna be stuck his a farmer picking his nose because he was to lazy to find his own picture and had to steal his bandwidth..

I promised not to share the auction links until AFTER his auctions ends... as soon as it does i will be glad to share..

ok i take that back.. it closes in LESS than 2 days... i dont want to give a certain time out.... trust me i will provide a link to the little punk's auction as soon as his closes.. and i will try my best to keep it bumped... i wish i could see the reaction of the other guy when he finds his auction completely ruined..

i just checked into the guys rating... he well over 100+ auctions... this guy should know better.. what a joke.. not only did he steal the image directly... but he even copied the html directly to his page table and all...
