I think your friend should make this other guy pay! I'm usually a nice, forgiving guy, but this is one clear opportunity (I think - I don't know, not a legal expert or anything 😉) where something very nasty can be done, without bad consequences for you. Well, maybe the other guy can leave negative feedback or something? I dunno... but still...

My vote: a huge, hi-quality image of something nasty 😀 There's plenty of pr0n available, sure, but his picture host may have restrictions against adult material. But I'm sure you can find nice disgusting, non-pr0n pictures as well!

Tell him to change it to a picture of a completely thrashed CD-ROM so everyone viewing the other auction will see a demolished product and think that's what he's selling.
 
LOL guys.. very good ideas.. we will have to see what will happen and btw the other guys auction goes for about 5 days.. so we can have plenty of time to view it.. hahaha.. unless he pulls it or ebay does..

lol i just found ANOTHER guy who stole the pic too.. so now there are two seperate auctions.. one closing in 2 days.. the other in 5... the first does have some bids.. so i think hes screwed.. the other does not so far..

Won't your friends auction get more "hits" if you post the link now? What is the problem in posting the link? You are helping him!
 
Why not just change the image, to some text saying something like 'Please do not buy from me. I am a thief!', in big red letters.
