First of all I am a Mormon and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have heard of some of these groups but they are all basically off-shoots of the what is referred to as LDS. They are not true LDS, but one of a few radical groups.

One thing many of them have in common is polygamy. Basically, men are glutounous pigs and they want to have several 16 year old wives at their beck and call. If you give men power they sometimes succumb to the abuse of this power. Polygamy is a crime in this country, but in some locations they just do not prosecute for it. I think they should just castrate these polygamists like the pigs that they are.

Some of the untold story is a lot of these extra kids end up on welfare rolls. The Mothers if they are implicit in their actions and deeds are just as guilty.

It's always the religious types isn't it. :} Personally I would think that having two + wives would be punishment enough. Zebo pointed out the correct problem..

"like pedophia, tax evasion, slavery, racketeering etc"

Some? Utah has the highest welfare incidence in the USA if you excluse Washington DC. Massive fraud is being perpetrated. Course they don't actually "marry" them on the books but in the church so they can still get benefit as an un-wed mother of 5-12 children.

The situation is hopeless because everybody runs from pain.
Not just pain, but the unknown. Notice how the more whacko the sects get, the more important being saved, pure, etc. is? That there is a fear of death, and what follows. A fear of something that nothing can yet be done about. But then, if there wasn't concentration on that, one might have to look at what they do in life only...and that could be equally terrifying.

All of us run from pain. It's part of being animals. I even run from pain, and I have very few moments w/o some of it. When you start thinking about it, outside of acute pain caused by outside sources or temporary sickness, it's pretty irrational. Yet that doesn't seem to change things too much.
