Fun Exercise
Oxymoron , impossible, elusive ? maybe but I have found that I stick with exercise longer if it's fun. Whats your favorite fun workout ? I really enjoy a bicycle ride on a sunny day. Now my child is taking karate and loves it. I've got her a uniform from karatedepot.com and she looks so cool in it. Karate is fun to learn and a great workout. Anyone else into the martial arts ? I thought it would be interesting to find out what other people consider a fun exercise.

I like biking with a buddy, and also kayaking. Having someone to workout with always makes it 100x better. When I bike by myself, most days it's just "work" and I turn my brain off and pedal, but if I'm out and about with a friend, it's a lot more fun. Personally I don't like team sports at all. I also don't mind using cardio machines while reading a book, listening to music/podcasts/audiobooks, or watching TV. Usually on my old stationary bike.

To me, brazilian jiu jitsu is perhaps the most fun I have while working my butt off. Deadlifts are a close second.

I really enjoy Olympic weightlifting. I'm pretty good at the clean and jerk, but my snatch is terrible. Still love it though.

Racquetball for me. I love the challenge of the game and it gives me some good cardio when I play an equal or better opponent. I also like it because as other have mentioned, if you don't like the team aspect play singles, if you do, play doubles.

bjj is fun until you get mat herpes(not a joke). my favorite is hiking. a tough trail will whoop your ass and reward you with some amazing scenery.

Open water swimming. I like the physical and mental contest of it. In the ocean, I get an idea of how insignificant I am in comparison and that motivates me to rise to the challenge. It's not quite the same in a lake, but the challenge is there to a lesser degree.

It's called keeping the mats clean while wearing clean gi's and showering after practice. Don't be a pansy :p

Sports are always a fun way to exercise - over the years, I've had an awesome time playing hockey, football, basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, etc. My current "sport" is Crossfit and I just can't get enough. Learning the gymnastics moves in particular (handstand push-up, muscle-up, planche, l-sit, and various exercises on rings) has been very enjoyable. Also, biking, walking, jogging or hiking through beautiful terrain is great from time to time.

Wow I had forgotten about Racquetball. I haven't played that in forever. I hate tennis, but I love Raquetball...go figure :p

agreed. even more so with a wetsuit designed for racing. you're just so much more floaty and zip right through the water.

If you're including sports, then volleyball, I played throughout high school and college. Its more fun now that it isn't "work" like it is when you're on an official team, although I don't get to play nearly as much.

Road biking is sooooo fun. Followed close by surfing and boogie boarding. Are those exercises?

I like weight training in general. It's like I built a whole new person since I started.

unfortunately you cannot force your training partners to bathe. sometimes people slack on mat cleaning(from my experience, more often than not...i have NEVER seen a bjj gym clean its mats before every class...more like once a week or once every 2 weeks), and sometimes a dirty bastard shows up.

For me, the ones I really get stoked about are when I'm going to do some speed work at the track or do a relatively short run in a nice area, like by the canal on a hot summer day. These are workouts I look forward to. Basically, anything switching from the norm, including trying to PR for a swim or similar.

Guess I'll be the first to say running. I haven't ran in 3 weeks (injured knee) and it's driving me crazy!! I find it to be very relaxing (on an easy day) or invigorating (on a harder day), gives you time to think and let your mind wander (if alone) or just talk about random shit (if with a buddy or team) and provides for some great scenery if you know where yo go. Strangely enough, I despise biking, though, and get bored within 10 minutes.
