Holy crap. You spent all that money and bought an upscaling DVD player, power conditioner and switch box?
The quality of upscaling DVD players is BS; power conditioners are snake oil.
If you really want to make a plasma shine - what you need is a proper scaler. There are a number about - but if you are spending good money on a TV, then you really, really want a crystalio

That would just be mean. It's pretty common knowledge that BB has a huge markup on accessories, and service plans are almost pure profit. I don't fault him for getting the plan, and the people actually spending the money took the bait on the power conditioner. He already explained why he got the cables there instead of ordering online.
Unless you're willing to fly to his area and let them use your BB discount, it's a bit rude to flaunt that you can get a better price because you work there.

You do realize that half-life of a Plasma TV is still still better than DLP's current lumination, right?
Plus by the time 10 years rolls around - you've spent enough on DLP bulbs to purchase a brand new plasma.

DLP bulbs have lifespan of around 60-80k hours, which is as long as the halflife of PlasmaTV's.

Newer ones have 60K hour phosphor half life. Thats around 6.5 years at 24/7 usage. Older ones are at 30K hour halflife.

Why? If you had taken the time to read the OP, you would know that I'm 16.

If you don't mind me asking, is your family friend loaded? Also, good luck with your job prospects at BB. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

"The only way to transmit a 1080p signal is with firewire, and nothing supports it yet."
All the Best Buy sales guys agreed at the store near me.

$550 on a power conditioner? Hell, for that price he could have bought a full blown UPS that could have kept the TV running for 30 minutes during a power outage. Why did you let your "family friend" get ripped off like that?
