In any case, if the Titan continue to get highly positive press, sales should increase despite the barriers to entry in this segment. If owners are as happy with the trucks as the writers all seem to be, word of mouth should help a lot as well.
As I said, it's a very good truck. I just would not be able to look at it every morning in my garage or from the driver's seat. Personal preference to be sure, but to my eye the poor thing is incredibly ugly both inside and out.

Yes, but as all of ATOT knows, your exterior styling tastes are dissimilar to just about everyone else's. :p

I still think that time will prove me right about the current Nissan and Toyota designs. :p

How bout an engine swap with a Titan?? Then you'll have a 350z that actually has 350+ hp!!!

Yeah, make the Z heavier for an extra 63hp? Just put a turbo or blower on it and you will be up around 350hp easy with minimal weight added.

I'd take a Titan over a Dodge any day of the week. I still prefer the Tundra though. :D

But what about the 100+ lbs-ft of torque?? :p Throw a blower on that and you'd have some killer results :p

I have liked the new Dodges since they got released a few years back and that review still sounds pretty favorable for the Dodge. I really don't think the Nissan 'won' by any sort of a landslide.

Maybe you can't read, let's reiterate:

"The Titan didn't just win this test, it ran away with it. Such a result might seem like an improbable upset, but the numbers speak for themselves. It cleaned up at the test track, had the second lowest sticker price, offered the most desirable features and was every editor's number-one recommended pick. This wasn't the case of an upstart contender putting together a few key assets to slip into first place. No, this was the story of a truck that was built to beat the domestics at their own game and succeeded."

Uhoh, attack of the fanboys.
I don't agree with everything C&D and Edmunds said, so therefore I am an illiterate fool

I think the Dodge looks the best hands-down, even your precious article stated that much.

The Dodge came in number one in the following (means it beat the Titan):
- Engine performance
- Breaking
- Steering
- 'Fun factor'
- rattles
- interior
- Exterior
- audio

So, yeah I would personally take the Dodge. I like the looks, and *gasp* yeah part of the reason why I would buy a vehicle is for the looks, and the engine was reviewed as being pretty awesome.

also, most dodges, chryslers etc. have a very poor resale value. if you want that Hemi in your ram, you better be ready to lose a lot more than if you had the titan. it just cant hold up the resale value, no daimler-chrysler domestic vehicle really has ever held up well in resale value.

damn right,

The new HO cummins has 600 even lbft of torque.

From the DaimlerChrysler media site:

"20041/2 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Cummins "600" with a class-dominating 600 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm and 325 horsepower at 2,900 rpm. Equipped with the new Cummins "600," the Dodge Ram Heavy Duty takes its position at the head of the heavy-duty pickup segment"

Test notes revealed that the Titan got off the line faster than every other truck in the test, unloaded or not, and maintained a strong, virtually uninterrupted pull thanks to seamless shifts from its five-speed gearbox."

BWHAHAHAH - Hemi-go-slow-what?

seriously, that's a sad result for 345 HP. That thing got a Hemi in it? :p

Nah, a pickup truck or suv is more practical for single people. Why do you think there's so many on the road?

I'd say 2.6% after a year is pretty good....

You can't really expect everybody to just up and buy the Titan. With all the good press, I'm sure sales will pick up nicely....

I bought a Nissan Titan the day before yesterday. It is one hell of a truck.
Nissan really put some thought in building this truck, unlike Toyota did with the T100...I owned one of those to. (Not bashing Toyota's, I love them to)

I traded in my 2001 Dodge Ram and this Titan is 10 times the truck that was...

:)

Does anyone remember the small japanese diesel pickups of the 70's & early 80's?

The Isuzus, Toyota's & Nissan's were legendary in how frugal & durable they were.

I just flashed on my next truck, it'll be the first full size diesel made by Toyota or Nissan. Right now I have a V6 F-150 MT that pulls around 18-20 MPG combined & I just don't want to take the MPG hit of a gasoline V8 made by anyone.

Here in Texas, it's damned near impossible to find a Dodge RAM with a HEMI and 17's. So I took the 20's.

Ya know what? It's still a hell of a fun truck. And tire prices (I checked before I bought the truck) aren't as bad as I'd feared.

Doesn't matter, the big 3 will still stay the truck kings for the time being. It's not a serious truck just yet, it's a great competitor for other american half-tons, but Nissan has nothing bigger to play hardball with just yet.

Agreed!

 to Nissan's and Toyota's styling as of late!
