never used an ftp before, I recently registered at dreamhost.com and I don't have ftp software, is it essential in transferring .html/.swf files?
 
For a free FTP client, I too rocemmond filezilla.

Though my long standing favorite is and has been Flashfxp for a good 6 or 7 years now.

One note, Filezilla server is very good but it does not support secure connection (FileZilla Client does).

Thanks for the info on FileZilla. I was using some crappy client (CoffeCup FTP), I'm going to swtich.
