Well if it works like the no-call list in Georgia then it will be good. I signed up for that one and after a few months it was a lot better. One call every few weeks instead of several calls a week.:D

From the Salt Lake Tribune

The Federal Trade Commission, which had been working for more than a year to roll out the free "do not call" program, said that by 5 p.m. on the first day of registration, more than 735,000 people had signed up. Far more might have joined them if they could have gotten through, but the FTC Web site, www.donotcall.com, was overwhelmed by visitors. The sign-up process began just after midnight, and by noon online operations had been slowed to a crawl by the crush of would-be registrants.

Tennessee has had a "do not call" list for 2 years now. Its has worked great.

Yep, I can vouch for that. We haven't had a telemarketing call for about a year and a half now, other than those "exempt" companies(which i find is BS when AT&T,bellsouth, mci, etc.. can still call all they want)

But i've already signed up our numbers to the FTC one too.

peace

I'm on my state's list, and let me tell you, it works! This is a hot deal for sure.
Which state? I signed up for the NY list a few months back and I thought I read that it applies nationally. Do I have to sign up for this one too ?
Well I found the answer to my own question, thanks for worrying so much though.

How your state's list interacts with this national list

You're welcome.
What they say in that link there is BS. I did a verify with the national list and my number wasn't in there (yet?). When were they supposed to merge them ?!

Anyway, I just went and added to the national list anyway.

Kentucky updates their list quarterly, I believe. I wouldn't imagine any state does this on a real-time basis.
