The only problem hearing ANYTHING on this topic from you is all in your sig. I am impartial because I like both for different reasons. But the posted issue has NOTHING to do with who makes a better processor!!!!! It has to do with Intel being able to crush competetors simply by sheer capital (money) like MS did/does.

Modus:

<< that the FCC decision >>

When did the FCC come into this conspiracy theory? ;):p

I have always thought this, and most other, conspiracy theory were a load of crap.

Huh. I think some of you people need to re-read Modus' posts, and think about it some more.

I think what he's implying is very easy to understand, and has a very high chance of being true. Think about it. If Intel innovated like hell, releasing faster and faster processors at breakneck speeds, AMD would have died. They couldn't let that happen, since the FTC was breathing down their necks..

Of course it's not the reason for all of Intel's screwups, but he's saying it's what lead to them. AMD came out with this superior product, and while trying to catch up, Intel tripped over it's shoelaces. Simple as that.

I don't believe AMD needs to worry though. If the rumors about the Pentium 4 are true, AMD is safe. They have a 1 year, 1 generation lead over Intel. Even if the P4 comes out and stomps the Mustang(Which seems unlikely), the Sledgehammer should stomp the P4. Intel had better have their Pentium 5 well along ...
