This new quote bug is one of the most annoying we've had so far. It makes the forums look like crap.

That's what I was wondering. Do all forums that use Fusetalk have these problems? How can you release forum software that has problems with nested quotes?!?

The problem isn't really with nested quotes themselves, but the fact that editing or quoting a post causes any existing quotes in it to get turned into some sort of HTML.

This is a huge bug though. It's hard to believe that something like this could exist in any commercial forum software.

I know this is a minor problem, or maybe it is an intentional feature. After logging in, you are brought to the main forum list, instead of returning to the previous page (forum, thread).

These forums are so dead these days. These bugs have driven off so many members. I bet a lot of people still can't access the forums because they don't know to clear their cookies.

I just wanted to add that I have the vertical scrollbar too.

I'm not sure why it happens. It doesn't happen on every thread... just sort of randomly comes up. It's not all the time, but it's not rare. As someone said, the vertical scrollbar goes away when the text size is shrunk, but the text is too small then so it's not really a workaround.

It is pretty annoying for me, mostly because I use All-in-One Mouse Gestures extension, and Scroll to Top and Scroll to Bottom gestures do not work when that vertical scrollbar is there. All it does is scroll that vertical scrollbar that shouldn't be there (not the main one on the outside of the window) which only moves a few lines up or down. Likewise, using Home or End to go to the top/bottom of a page doesn't work when that second vertical scrollbar is present. Also, sometimes, individual posts get a vertical scrollbar for no reason.


This issue, broken nested quotes, and the issue where a long thread cuts off bottom posts and is all blank are the worst issues for me ATM. It seems a workaround for that issue is to set # of posts per page in a thread to 60 or less. Other stuff like highlighted visited links/threads is pretty annoying too (shouldn't this be a very quick fix?).

I'd like to see bugs like those (as well as any remaining performance/posting speed) fixed before trivial stuff like missing emoticons, alphanum ordering, various search issues (at least it works OK now for up to 3-4 month old threads), #25, and other various organization/missing buttons type bugs.

I've been having insanely slow loading here on and off for the past week or so...maybe even as far back as the upgrade. It takes upwards of 3-5 minutes to load any page on the forums...while periodically it'll start flying along again. Its slow in both IE7 and FF.

I've posted a tracert to show that everything inbetween is fast - atleast in terms of latency. I'm guessing you guys block pings?

Why does Kaspersky have issues with the new AnandTech site? I never had trouble before. All my PC w/o KIS are fine but the one with KIS still craaaaaaawls when trying to access AT.

Who's issue is it and how can it be fixed?

I'm not sure if this is the same FF rendering issue you've heard about, but:
before the switch, I had threads to view 500 posts per page. Since the switch, in FF I can only see down to 94 posts. (It actually seems to vary) I cannot find any way to change my per page listing either.

I have the same problem. e.g. try this link (threading view). Just hold down scroll-down, it gets cut off pretty soon.

IE and Opera don't seem to have the problem but I'm thinking FF does because it's compliant with some property FuseTalk isn't setting properly while IE and Opera ignore it...

Who's issue is it and how can it be fixed?

I seem to be suffering from this as well, I just have KAV installed but the forums load MUCH quicker with it disabled. I haven't seen issues with any other sites.
