The ad didn't even list the address of the store. Told my boss that I planned to be off Friday so I could be there. It would be nice if they would list the sale items in tomorrow's paper. Bets are the ad will be in the Friday A.M. paper.

Fry's is notorius for having phenomenal grand openings. There will be an add in Friday's paper, and there will be a ton of people there. The one here has 66 checkout's so even with an enormous line, it goes quick. They also have some great deals, and they usually have plenty of stock. So, please check the paper early Friday morning, and post here before you run off to Fry's. It will be most appreciated. I can't wait to see what they offer. Thanks and see you back here Friday morning.

Usually there are ad inserts in the Thursday paper. It will probably appear then. I rarely see inserts in the Wednesday paper.

I guess I am going to have to get to work late on Friday. Hmm...maybe it's not such a good thing that I get paid on Thursday, the day before the GRAND OPENING. Damn, there goes all my earnings. Wonder if there's gonna be a line of techies lining up outside of Fry's Friday morning. I know, I'll be one fo them! :p See you ATL guys/gals there!

Can someone post the exact address of this Fry's, to use in mapquest. I want to see how long it will take me to get there. Thanks.

Not sure of the real address, but I can tell you this much. If you go to GP Mall and go to the I-85 side (Sears, Hooters) and act as if you are going to go to GP Auto Mall in essence, Fry's is right there. Once you turn on Commerce (car dealer row), it is the first right when heading away from the mall. The other best way to describe the location is if you are on car dealer row, and you get to Satellite you've gone too far. If you are coming from Satellite, Fry's is on your left and if you get to Sears, you missed it.

This Mapquest page is close as I don't have the address. Based on that map, Fry's is at pretty much at the corner of Ring Rd and Commerce Ave. Just remember the car dealers. GP Dodge is just away from Fry's and if you get to GP Dodge, you are so close. I did notice when I was running around there on Saturday, that if one of the dealers is doing a tent sale, then you may miss it with all the cars in that grass. One was doing a tent sale and kind of blocking it from view. Hope that helps and see you guys there tomorrow. My nick on here describes me so I would not be hard to spot. LOL!

What time do they close? It will take me 2 hours to get there, so it may not be worth it for me to go Friday after work. Wish I could find out what is going to be on sale. Although it will have to be a really good price to make up for the gas I will use driving there and back.

Just map to : 2100 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096. That's Gwinnett Place Mall's address. Fry's is right beside it so that would be pretty accurate.

I went by last night. They are expecting 2 1/2 to 3 million dollars in sales the first day. Can we say swamped! Currently they are open until all the customers leave. So I would guess they will be open late Friday. Everyone I asked about hours said they had no idea.
OK I have to ask does Fry's really have good prices or just there sale stuff is out of this world. I kept comparing there prices to Newegg and they are higher. Also I hate how they have computer memory done. They have this board on the wall and it has the type, speed and size (eg Muskin PC3200 512) but it does not have the cas latency. It has a bunch of other numbers but none of they mean anything to a non Fry's computer. So I had someone I knew there look it up in the computer and nothing about cas latency there either. The other thing I dislike about the board is going from left to right it has no flow. Stuff is just kind of random up there. Now going from top to bottom it list Dimm, Rambus, Etc which was helpful.
Also they only had 3 SATA drives and that was all the room for SATA they had where hard drives are displaied. The had ton of SCSI and a good selection of IDE.

O Well we will se how things are when they open.

Todays Add in the AJC is a whole page saying mostly the same as yesterday. They do however mention the top 3 prizes in their giveaways:
  1. 3 Trip for two to Hawaii
    2 Sony 57 Hi-Def Projection TV
    1 2004 Ford F-150

Also, the address is:
3296 Commerce Avenue North West
Duluth GA

Phone 678-405-6800

See you guys tomorrow morning ;)

My impression is that for us geeks the store will be mainly good for their outrageous sales. Some of the Motherboard + Processor bundles are out of this world. Special sales on Memory and other Hardware such as Hardrives, Burners and Cases can also be good.
It will be nice to have the option they offer!

If you sign up for a Fry's credit card you will be entered into a car give away of some sort. That I was told last night also. They thought it was going to be a Hummer or Escalade.

There is an ad....It is between the A section and C section. It's actually the B section. But I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping to find a cheap Barton combo or A64 combo but nothing of the sort.

I don't know if the P4 3ghz combo for $179 is a good deal. I am not an Intel guy. There is also an 8x Dual DVD+-RW for 50 bucks straight up on the front page. Just looked at Pricewatch and it appears that mb/cpu might be a good one as the lowest there is 228 for a P4 3.0 800. Fry's describes it as: P4 3GHz, Bare CPU@800MHz FSB, HT Technology, USB2.0, 6 Channel Southd and SATA. No name on MB so who knows. The picture looks an awful lot like an ECS MB if I were to have to guess.

Maybe there is something unadvertised for when I get there. I hope so, wanted to replace this P3-866.
