btw, Webster hasn't had the official "GRAND OPENING" yet.... Not sure when they are gonna have it, it should have been a while back though.... Odd that Sugarland is having theirs first....

I guess no one has noticed that the add from 3/29 said that the "page after page" of deals was supposed to be in todays paper. It was not. 🙁 Not sure if it is the Chronicle's fault or Frys. Im hoping that it will be in tommorrows paper. I would hate to face those crowds, blindly hoping to find a deal or two.
 
The pages and pages of deals is more than likely going to appear on Friday. Fry's never advertises anything before the day of the sale unless its Thanksgiving.
 
Yeah I went today to check it out.

It is just like the one in austin, but a little bigger. Seems to have less inventory on the floor and more put away, but that could because it is brand new.

THe help staff seemed extraoridinarily friendly for a fry's. Seems to be the most customer friendly fry's I have ever been to (Austin, Dallas, Houston, and a few in Cali)

Also one of the guys in the car stereo department made a Song for them. It is really pretty good and is an excellent business use in that department. Its a pretty good rap song with lots of bass (used in the amps and subwoofers section).

The parking will be atrocious though. They have a very small parking lot for a fry's.

Hmm.....looked through the paper...doesn't seem anything worth getting going for early.....i'll wait till 10-11am when the crowds hopefully died down some.

If i get the things then cool, if not, no biggie.
 
Just got back from frys. Anyone who might have considered the 17" TFT for $149 AR ....DONT. Terrible 30 ms response time. It is a GEM 170b. I bought it then did the research. Oh well, an excuse to go back. Got the ram for $29 AR and a few misc parts for cheap system builds. Overall, fairly disapointing. Did get Half Life 2 for $25, so that was cool. Supposedly, this is an all weekend thing, with more deals tommorow. I hear a 27" (unknown brand) TV for $59....we shall see.
 
Not too bad really. The line just before open was just to the end of the building so maybe about 150 peeps. I was able to get everything on my list. If they actually have decent stuff tommorrow probably will be worse, being Saturday and all.
 
I was there (Sugarland store) about 11:00 a.m. this morning. Unbelievable crowd, I had to park about 1/2 mile away and walk back. There were probably somewhere close to 1,000 people in line for the checkout. It was very difficult to make your way through the store because of the checkout lines which extended back and forth all the way through the store.

Seriously, if the fire marshall had seen this, he would have made them start restricting access.

Thats good, hopefuly there will be a couple of the items I want left when i get off work at 4:30. I'm not counting on it though
