Fry's deals this week (12/25 - ?)

another madhouse day at Fry's. I was there at 815am and while it wasn't as bad as Black Friday, the checkout line in Fremont, was looping in the store. They were better prepared at the components dept. to take orders. I left w/nothing...hoping to go back later after work. I do have the order for a memory stick. Oooo...ahhhhh.
 
Got the Seagate drive and Athlon / ECS combo. Should be good next to the Intel / ECS that I got last week 🙂

Ok now to make my post worth reading... Frys in Dallas (Garland) has tons of the combos so don't rush out there cause they won't run out anytime soon. Same with the drives at least a 4 foot stack in a couple places. About time someone had what they advertised!

Good gawd, the line in San Diego was ridiculous. Never seen it that long, but then again I usually go when its not busy. Gonna head back later and hope that it dies down. Plenty of combos it looks like.
 
Just got in from Fry's and, like said, they had everything IN STOCK. Nice! The line for checkout was INCREDIBLY long but moved very fast so it reall wasn't a problem. They also printed up rebates for $10 each on Icewind Dale 2 and NOLF2 but has no address on the form? I didn't expect a rebate so is ther one available? Anyone have info on where I send it to?
 
i just got the ecs combo with the ram, am putting it in a case as i type, will let you know if i can get it to do 133fsb...

seems to be working with the 133/133 setting, running memtest to be sure...

it just passed memtest x86, no probs. will be installing win2kpro now.

i was in and out of frys in about 30min, which was awesome considering there was about 100+ inline. 🙂
 
not bad, over a hundred combos in stock still. cpu comes with decent cooler, kinda looks like a cooler master, not copper though heh🙂 motherboards aren't opened. go figure.
 
I was just at the Fry's in Fountain Valley over my lunch break specifically for the Seagate drive. The line to checkout was INSANE! I'm going back after work to pick it up when I have more time to stand in line. They had tons of them.
 
I arrived at the San Diego Fry's at ~7:50am, there must have been between 500 and 1000 people already on line. Luckly I saw a friend near the front of the line who let me in! Bought 2 of the Soyo Cig@r Pro 64 meg USB flash drives ($39.99 + tax with $35 MIR), and was out within 10 minutes! Now that's a merry f**king Xmas!
 
I just called Frys in Wilsonville Oregon and they have more than 300 of the XP 2000+ combos and more than 300 of the Seagate hard drives still in stock - WOW.

Frys is nothing like CompUSA or WorstBuy ... If they have a one day sale at prices this crazyily cheap then they only have about 10 - 15 of each item
 
I went to the Burbank Fry's around 11:00 AM today and I was amazed at the lack of crowds. The return line had only about 6 people in it and the check out line was almost nothing. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. Anyway I wanted to report on something interesting. I bought the no one lives forever game and it rung up for $14.99. Then the cashier gave me a mail in rebate for an additional $10 back. This will make the game $4.99. I wasn't expecting that one. The rebate form is also good for $10 off the following titles. The thing, Icewind Dale, Emperor rise of the middle kingdon, empire earth, the lord of the rings. The rebate looks like they made copies of.

i so hate best buy. 10-15 hot sale items always, its a joke.
 
I installed mine with XP Professional and the only drivers Ihad to download and install were for the onboard sound.

I also asked the CSR is the ECS boards were retail boxed and he said yes.

*edit* question for one of you guys that got the ram: Did any of you get some really nice ram? Or was it all generic poop? I mean any Cas level 2 stuff or 6 nanosecond stuff? Any good brand-name chips on the PCB like Infineon or samsung or anything? Thanks!
 
well yea u can always go with default windows drivers, but who wants to do that😉

and onboard sound, ieww, that was disabled hehe.

 
Just got back from Fry's and it died down alot down here in San Diego. Must of been in and out in like 15 minutes. Sweet. Got the combo, good deal.

I'd suggest you run prime95 to make sure there are no intermittent problems.

Mine won't do 133/133, I think it's because the vcore is sagging, it's actually at 1.728 and AMD spec is 1.75. I'm going to do the hardwire mod to see if it goes away.



 
I had the 2000 xp combo in my hands, but then I noticed that it wasn't a tbred. So I decided not to get it. I rather spend the money on a 1800 tbred.

I didn't get a rebate from Fry's when I bought NOLF2 today. Damnit, I'm going to take my receipt to them tomorrow and get my rebate. I wonder if there's a pdf online? aarrggghh

Tried it but it didn't solve the problem. 🙁

Yeah you can do some soldering and I gave my vcore another .1 volts
