I did the PM on NOLF2 at CC with Fry's. 12 bucks and change out the door. I thought about getting Icewind and LOTR too and Ebaying them off for $20, but then I just couldn't be bothered.

i just got the ecs combo with the ram, am putting it in a case as i type, will let you know if i can get it to do 133fsb...

seems to be working with the 133/133 setting, running memtest to be sure...

it just passed memtest x86, no probs. will be installing win2kpro now.

i was in and out of frys in about 30min, which was awesome considering there was about 100+ inline. 🙂

I'd suggest you run prime95 to make sure there are no intermittent problems.

Mine won't do 133/133, I think it's because the vcore is sagging, it's actually at 1.728 and AMD spec is 1.75. I'm going to do the hardwire mod to see if it goes away.

prime95?? what is that? couldn't i just run ud or seti for a couple of days straight?

I'm guessing those $10 rebates for those games was a mistake since it looks like most of us didn't get an address on our rebate forms. I looked on Oupost.com and Sierr.com and didn't see the rebate form anywhere.

But, if anyone DID get an address for NOLF2, please tell us. An extra $10 never hurts.

btw, I got to the Palo Alto Fry's this morning 10 min before they opened and there was already a line of about 100 people waiting to get in. There was a big ole crowd at the components department immediately after they opened. Alot of people were snagging the $50 Seagate 80 GB HD's, but I didn't need one. I wanted one of those 64 MB USB flash keychain drives for $5 though. There was only a tiny cardboard box that had about 20 of them and people were punching their fists in there trying to get one. I got one and the remaining ones disappeared a few minutes later.

Luckily, Fry's got their act together at the cash registers and had most of them staffed, as opposed to on Black Friday when they only had about 4 of their 20 registers going in the morning.

Well, I slept like a baby till 11:00 am, went to frys on my way from returning a video, got to Palo Alto frys at 12:30. Everything was in stock, no getting in lines no checkout lines. Left with 2 USB keys, USB 2.0 3.5 slot and $50 hard drive...

SUCKAS 🙂

hehe... Palo Alto Fry's rocks!
I went at 4:50pm after calling and some clueless CSR who told me there were 8 of those FAR MP3 players and 10 USB memeory drives left. I was doubtful but tried anyways. I go there and every CSR on the floor says they are out of both items so I am P.O.ed to say the least. But I look around anyways and what do I stumble upon, one of the FAR MP3 players on a the top shelf! Sweet! They even had a bunch of the 50 pack CDRs for ~$4.50 and a ~$30 ZIP drive my GF wanted. No USB memory sticks though :frown:. Oh well, overall a good experience.

I really have to hand it to the Manhattan Beach, CA Fry's this time. I got there at around 9:15 AM and pretty much all of their specials were still in stock. They had a ton of Seagate hard drives and CD-Rs left. I wasn't interested in any of the other deals, but I came across a lot of the FAR USB hubs and the $5 USB keychains. If Fry's can keep this up, they'll be my #1 choice for black friday and day after christmas shopping.

Prime95 is a little program that you can use to load the cpu and test it. Yeah I think seti will work fine.

how can u tell if theres a sag?

In the BIOS, you pick hardware monitor and it tells you what your voltages are. I had 1.728 for my vcore, I think 1.75 is the norm. It was a little low, but that wasn't the cause of my problems. I'm going to buy some DDR tomorrow and see if that fixes my no 133/133 problem. If not, I'll just declare these motherboards crap, take it all back and get something else. :disgust:

I have the rebate for the game and would be happy to share, but I don't know how to post it. If someone would help me I would be glad to do it. I can also fax it.

Darn.. sorry I missed this deal..

Athlon XP 2k retail + ECS k7S5A = $99

Did anyone pick up an extra one that they would sell to me?

thx
Dave

I will be at Fry's B&M in Wilsonville, Oregon later today.

Where abouts is the NOLF2 rebate form located?

Please read carefully the information on the rebates. Several had to be POSTMARKED by Dec 30th. The video card has until Jan 2nd. The USB 2.0 card and 64 MB CIG USB memory were Dec 30th. I ahve no ideas on some others, but the Seagate drive is fine and the games. I, for one, had too much on my plate at work to get this done until today. Looks like several items are going to be ANGRILY returned. It's a shame they use such gimmicks just to piss people off. I guess I leaned a lesson about dealing with Fry's...be forewarned.
