Reluctant obligatory voice of doubt: if BD was indeed shipping, even in tiny quantities, wouldn't we have heard something from somebody by now? Not necessarily AMD itself, but some sort of halfway reliable leak? Hell, I want to believe it's finally out in the wild--for better or worse!--but the ongoing lack of reliable intel isn't helping one damn bit...
 
Its going to be a sad day if BD fails hard.
Thus far the general feeling is that everything is not double rainbows and unicorns over at AMD.

With all the delays and a lack of marketing to tout their new champion, I think AMD really wishes they had something else to offer.

I could be wrong and this could be a ruse to take Intel by surprise, but in business its better to tell your partners you got something great to increase orders and demand.

I long for the days when AMD was really sticking it to Intel and creating a favorable environment for consumers, but I think we are all going to have to wait a while longer for that day to come again. 🙁
 
Maybe the employee was trolling you? You said it was only a single box, right? So maybe it's just a(nother) cruel cruel lie.

That's what I'm wondering. If it really is only a week away I'd assume AMD would make a final announcement. I mean, they announced when Interlagos began shipping, so wouldn't they do the same for Zambezi?

I honestly have no idea what I am looking at here, obvious chick with hand to head in the foreground...wtf is the background and how does the pic itself relate to the overlaid text?

in the foreground we have a girl who is facepalming. she is "Ms. Jesse Slaughter" who posted pictures of her unmentionables to the interbutz. Several anons made fun of her abrasive attitude (frequent cursing) and her apparent lack of sexual conservatism (her lady parts were not unused). She got angry, and posted a video of herself crying. Her father, in the background, threatened to call the CYBER POLICE and said

CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

Holy carp, I just read through that and so much **** has happened since the meme started. Sounds like she's been having a pretty tough time. I feel bad for her :/...the joke isn't gonna be as funny now.

Thanks for the link. That IS crazy. I had no idea this meme existed. Now I understand the pic in its entirety. Can't believe her dad died, stuff's copulated up with that.

Basically thats how it went.

I stopped in MC I was unable to get any info.
The few people I know were not in today but I did ask a manager he said they had not received any stock and knew nothing of it.
But in regards to someone asking if it was only one that I saw at Frys...
It was multiple, yet I only got to finger one.
I did not mistake the others for another product.
The retail packaging was a much different color scheme than any other AMD retail boxed cpu.

Sadly though, he recently died of heart attack.

Yes the one they had open was in a tin box.
They said the tin box was inside of the cardboard box?
Honestly I will try and go up there tomorrow after work and see if I can get more info.
As I know they didnt just open it to go "Dang thats what it looks like?! We better put it back in the box now and not benchmark it or anything with the plethora of setups we have just sitting here for testing components."

That is pretty much what the majority of door-busting shoppers on Black Friday/Holidays will think when they see AMD vs Intel Cpu's for sale.

All they gotta do is add a "newly released" sticker on the AMD, that'll just seal the deal.

I was really hoping it would/will be but got impatient and went with Intel.
Really my own personal opinion is its going to be a flop.
Well at least they will get sales from the idiots who just see more cores and purchase without knowing much of anything. Using the more is better mentality.

Retail stores can open stuff, in fact they can put in on shelves if they want. They just can't SELL it till a certain date. The register just denies the sale.

I do it all the time at stores when we get shippers in wrapped up that says "Do not sale by" dates on them, first thing i do is cut a hole in cardboard and see whats inside 😀
