Best type is one that has been aged in wine/brandy for a year.
Soak a cloth in the liquor, wrap the cake in it, enclose it in foil and let it sit in a dark place for the year.

Make it this year, eat it next year.
Before you eat it next year, make a new batch.

Go for the Collins Street Bakery ones. My folks usually get one every year and I like them.
