This would be nice if true. Samsung has disappointed me since my Behold II. I have the Vibrant and the GPS is borked and why no FM radio? Its in there but tmo disabled it. I hope they fix all of this. Its a sweet phone but GPS is a huge issue for me right now. FM would be great but not a deal breaker.

PS: This is the OC kernel. 1.2GHZ, 2230 Quadrant score and just like stock except that you can delete whatever bloatware you want. I finally got "memo" and "friend feed back'!

I've already deleted all the bloatware I wanted - you only need root and a working ADB (or terminal emu) to do that.

BUMP

Someone check to see if there is a software update available. Mine just says "no firmware"

I didn't red much into the fix but I read that the fix uses your wireless to get the signal and not the GPS itself ??

yeah it seems it only makes it so that it gets a slightly better fix from the towers. It's still highly inaccurate and does not really work as GPS should. When we use my gf's iPhone, our indicator moves along the road as we drive smoothly and is always exactly where we are. On the Captivate, even with the fix, it's not exactly fixed, sometimes well off the road we are on, and it does not follow us as we move. It occasionally changes position and is, again, not very accurate.

Specifically, I believe it was a release for the French version of the i9000. My Vibrant still says "No Firmware".
