The suspect began a "frontal assault" on the building by driving up, throwing out "homemade spike strips" to delay any police response, and trying to run over a deputy, Piper said.

Marx then began firing through his windshield, hitting the deputy in the leg, the sheriff said. He also threw gas grenades -- perhaps pepper grenades -- during the attack and had flex ties and water in his possession, according to the sheriff.

This terrorist was armed, and ready to take hostages and murder many people - he had explosives as well.

The deputy took him out before any more harm could be done.

I was waiting for this statement and I wasn't disappointed. Yup, white guy goes on a shooting spree and he's seen to be mentally ill. Black guy goes on a shooting spree and he's a gangsta and a thug. It's interesting that he was to be in court today on drug charges and instead he chose to make a stand and go out in a hail of bullets after taking out as many people as he could.

No, he was a domestic terrorist who didn't want to face the music on other crimes he was charged with and instead decided to go down in flames, trying to take everyone he could with him. Deal with it.

Not really, the black guy is mentally ill as well.

Terrorism is perpetuating a political or economic agenda by terrorizing a population. This guy doesn't really fit that.
