From best friends to step-sisters.......

Some of you may remember that not too long ago I started a thread about my mom (hzlsmom) starting to date my best friend's (jeweleeann) dad. Well, they told us tonight that they're getting married! :Q I was worried at first that my mom was infatuated with him because he's the first she's dated since being divorced for around12 years. But, she is completely in love with him. It's nice to see her so happy. If anyone deserved happiness, it would be my mom. jeweleeann and BarbeQueGuy are getting married in March and all of Julie's female relatives will be wearing corsages. So.....Julie's first response when hearing the news? "Okay, so are you going to get married before me or after me? If you get married before me, I'll need to order two more corsages." (Since my mom and I would "technically" be family.) LOL! That's Julie for ya. So.....I guess I'm going to be getting more family! Oh yeah....and I set both couples up too. Aren't my matchmaking skills great?!?!) Heehee

Yes, dating only a week and deciding that is pretty freaking quick. lol I worried at first that maybe it was just infatuation. I have talked to my mom and I mean....she's head over heels for this man. It's weird that it happened so fast, but it's nice to see my mom so happy. Trust me, it's been years since I've seen her this happy. I'm not sure when they're getting married. Charlie was thinking January 3rd (Hello? That's a little too quick to plan. LOL) but they're thinking maybe in February.

So, I'm going to be getting a few siblings now. I'll be getting Julie, of course, and her brother that I went to school with--well, I went to school with Julie too, shortly.-- (He's around my age and is married and has two kids.) and an 11-year-old brother. I'm going from being the only child to one of four! :Q I'm not gonna know what to do!!!! Heehee

don't want to rain on anyones parade, but MAYBE your mom needs a reality check. If its love, then waiting won't change that. If it isn't then waiting won't change that either, but will save a few headaches. As her daughter and friend you have to challenge her on this.

I understand that completely. But, there's one fact that changes that scenerio just a little.... he's my best friend's father. It's not like he's just some guy that we know nothing about. Make sense?

EDIT: Trust me guys/gals....I am challenging her on this. I've asked her a billion times if he's really the one and is this just infatuation....and all that stuff. I'm not her mother. I'm her daughter and her friend, yes.....but this is something that, as far as we know....they are going to do. So, I either support her or I don't.
