I don't trust authority for a few reasons. First off, there was the time I was working in Black Mesa and the armed forces showed up and tried to kill me and another scientist. If it weren't for a quick-thinking security officer, I might not have survived.

Then there was the time that I lost my hearing trying to save a drowning woman, and then later discovered that almost the entire police force was corrupt. I had to take care of matters myself once an IAD cop who looked kind of like robert deniro refused to help.

I'm also wary of cops in LA because I think the Strike team in farmington is really out of control and could beat me for no reason.

Therefore I say hide the guns in your basement.

😉 It is pretty hilarious. Too many youngsters on the internet now. I remember back in the good 'ol days when there were only BBSs and the internet was a brand new thing. People were a lot more mature about correspondence back then. Probably due to the fact that the BBSs were usually small communities and some were even local groups.

BTW-To the OP, I would turn them in to the police. Those guns look far too rusted to ever be used again without a serious investment...probably cost you more to clean them up than they are worth new. How do the barrels look? Is the bore as pitted and rusted as the outside of those guns? If so, they are toast.

Unmodified it can take >10 rounds? If so, under MA law it would be under an assualt rifle classification that restricted ownership to those 21 and over IIRC.

True ignorance. Sorry but weapons of that type found in a lake far from shore aren't there because a hunter got lost. If they were stolen then I'm sure the owner would like to know the outcome, good or bad. The myth that serial numbers can't be pulled is just that. Any pressure applied to metal can be found hence the serial number can be pulled off of a rusted weapon. If any suspicion is generated they will more than likely be turned over to the BATF.

Take this from someone WHO HAS FOUND weapons in a lake and turned them over. Same type of deal except mine was closer to shore and about the same condition. The ones I found were indeed stolen about 10 years prior to their discovery. A Ruger Mini-14 and Remington 870 aren't worth keeping in that condition. Each one could be found legally for under $250 in working, un-rusted condition.

The longer you keep them the more questions you?ll have to answer on why you held onto them for so long.
