Hey, he threatened me first, and I edited mine out immediately. I don't want a flame war over it.

Anyway, my comments about the police come from experience, several of my friends have been seriously beaten by the police. About a month ago a 14 year old black boy who lives 2 roads away from me had his face smashed beyond recognition for refusing to hand over his bag. He spent a week in hospital.

What was in the bag then? It is called cooperating with authority and not putting them in a position to have to get physical unless you are standing up for some moral code. What was the reason for not handing the bag over? Was it drugs, alcohol, a weapon? Was the boy acting combative or threatening?

😉 It is pretty hilarious. Too many youngsters on the internet now. I remember back in the good 'ol days when there were only BBSs and the internet was a brand new thing. People were a lot more mature about correspondence back then. Probably due to the fact that the BBSs were usually small communities and some were even local groups.

And if that is true, how in the hell can you give advice like "don't turn the guns in, they will arrest you" for someone IN ANOTHER COUNTRY? haha i remember downloading porn on my 14.4 off a BBS. it would take like 5 min for ONE grainy picture. it would also come in a line at a time. so odds were you were either done or bored befoer you got to the good stuff!

Yes they are. You're twisting the court ruling. The police are there to protect the public, but you can't sue them if they fail to do so. There are many reasons the police may be unable to protect a citizen, it'd be crazy to let people sue the police for not protecting them when something bad happens.

Edit: Here in Los Angeles, they have those"Turn in a gun, get $100 in cash" deals once in a while. They are sponsored by the police. They pay $100 per gun, for any gun. I still think they make nice conversation pieces. Dip the entire gun in urethane, let it dry and hang them on the wall. Cool.

Anyway, this thread has become hillarious. I love the idea that doing your civic duty is "too much of a hassle" for some people. Take it to the cops or contact the FBI and have them come out and get them and see if they would cross ref to any crimes. I mean seriously why else would you throw a gun in a big body of water and if the feds needed was the guns to solve a crime you and your friend may become heros and maybe even a cash reward as well.
