To supress the most common questions, here's a FDT mini-FAQ:

The thing that puts system info on Windows desktops is coolmon
The thing that puts system info on *NIX desktops is gkrellm

To make a screenshot in windows, hit printscreen and then paste into a graphics program, such as M$ paint or your pirated copy of photoshop.
To make a screenshot in *NIX, use ksnapshot or gimp (File > Acquire > Screenshot).

The thing that lets you use custom skins in Windows XP is StyleXP. I don't have a link at the moment, use google.

Don't use geocities or other crappy free hosting services. Use the AT pic hosting service instead.

If you want some of the customizability you get in *NIX on a windows desktop, try Litestep.

Hehe.. no I didn't draw any of them. I got them here. I also got my wall paper and Winamp skin there as well.
