It just struck me as being odd ..... is there a way to do it right? Not to say I'm doing it wrong, but I'm just wondering if there's a set of guidelines or something hehe wow this is a weird thread.

No, I think this sort of thing comes naturally to a point...
If it feels good to both of you, you're doing it right, if it is weird, then you might need to change something...
Ignore the silly stuff you see in most movies, they usually don't actually French Kiss...
