If you had actually read the article, you would see that they are concerned with levels of acrylamide formed in potatos and other starchy foods after frying. Acrylamide is hardly as innocuous a substance as Vit C, believe me. I use it almost daily as an ingredient in gels used to separate and view DNA samples. It is toxic to humans and at least a suspected carcinogen to boot.

Further info on acrylamide from CDC.gov

Hmm, I usually am in the everything causes cancer, so why bother worrying about it camp, but this, if its true, seems like a different case. I would definitely like them to look into this more deeply, fried foods are bad for us to begin with, and God knows America eats way to much of such things already. We really need to wake up and realize what we are putting into our bodies a little better.

Thanks for the info Fausto, thats very interesting.

If you possess infinite knowledge about the world around us and how humans affect it, or how it affects human, then share it. If not, shut up. It's not your money anyway.

This just In:

Just finished reading an article in newsweek.

Warning:

Living Causes Cancer they recommend that everyone tie 150 lbs. weights to your feet and get in the nearest body of water(ponds, lakes, deep rivers, deep pools, seas, and oceans will suffice) Its the only proven method of stopping/preventing cancer from developing, growing and spreading. Speculative Scientists also believe this treatment maybe used to stop herpes outbreaks, hemrhoids and migraines.
