I'd be interested to see how they clean up a mess like that.

Large machinery and lots of people. It's more cost effective to throw tons of money at cleaning it up as quickly as possible than delay delivery of freight.

wonder if there was anything in the cylindrical container

I was expecting shit to blow up as it got closer and closer to the camera

I wonder how they get rid of the carcasses though. Load them on other trains?

Looked to me like a lot more than one car went off the tracks.

At about 1:15 you can see that it's dragging a whole line of derailed cars off to the left side. The large length of empty track behind the train when the one car first derails, followed by the rear cars eventually catching up, would indicate that the large length of empty track was once occupied by cars that are being pulled by the train

Yep, between 5 and 10 cars got tossed off the tracks to the left. The cars that stayed on the tracks went into emergency brake application which is what is causing all the sparks and then it slams into the locomotives at about 10MPH it looks. That train crew probably doesn't feel very good after that.

Quite a bit going on there really.

Yea, some of the freight cars are just placed onto a flatbed railcar. The wheels are easily removable and it doesn't make it that much taller than the original car once it's on there and secured.

I was oh, ok for the whole time then that car right in front fell off I was holy crap .then the train started to slow then eh that was not to bad. But then comes that huge gas tank I was like OOOOO shiit lol.

In all fairness to the train, it did blow its horn plenty of times but stupid tornado just wouldn't get out of its way.

That was impressive. I would not have wanted to be on the train looking back to see that liquid bulk tank car heading straight for me and hoping it was not full of fuel.

I was hoping to see the train get sucked up into the air like a roller coaster. But I suppose that's pretty difficult for such a heavy train.

An EF5 can toss boxcars around like beer cans with ease.

Always wanted to witness a EF5 tornado in person! No not to be actually in it but if I was in a safe location sure why not. The power of mother nature is awesome and beautiful!

Yeah, I saw that back in the mist there too.

Do you have eyeballs?

So is it standard procedure to try to outrun/blow by the tornado, or did it catch they that off guard...

It sure looked sudden, considering the calm when the video started (typical "calm before the storm").

Except for the part where the rest of the train catches up with the front.

I was thinking; "What is that thing in the distance coming down the tra... HOLY SHIT!!!!"

LOL.

Awesome video.
