Vegemite and Marmite are both YEAST EXTRACTS. IMHO, they taste awful. I guess if you grow up with the stuff you might feel different. One of the few down under things I did not care for.

The song made me want to eat it, then go die in a dumpster. At least they could have encoded it at an MP3 instead of an .AVI. Still curious as to what this stuff tastes like, however if it smells as bad as everyone is saying the neighborhood cat will be feasting on it soon.

Souka hit the nail on the head...... I was in Aus not too long ago and got a little to bring back with me. Yup, I knew about Vegemite from Men At Work..... 🙂 Anyway, I brought some back and I don't think a single person I've let try it has liked it. It really taste like jellied soy sauce..... so if you run out of soy sauce, maybe throw a little into your Chinese take out, but as for just throwing it on some toast or a cracker......... 🙁

Hex..

Just remember, it aint like peanut butter, just a real thin coat on toast is pretty good, but it's vile with too much spread on..

It's Aussie Peanut Butter ("Yeast paste extract" to be specific). Just imagine eating the gunk on the bottom of a old Guiness Stout brewing vat, that's vegemite! See, ya lernt somepin on ananandtek.

Fair Dinkum mate!

alright I feel stupid. it thought it was a feminine product or something

like "Vagimite for down under"
