Free Vegemite Sample from Down Under

I was in Australia in Dec. '97.....they have it out at breakfast with the jams and jellys...Kraft actually makes it....

It smells like old sweatsocks and tastes like jellied salt...other than that, its scrumpdidallicious.. 🙂

Who here remembers Men at Work on the radio and/or has a Vinyl LP of their album? Hearing the song while you were crapping your pants in your crib doesn't count.

I happen to love Vegemite, but do not like Marmite.
A good way to enjoy V-mite is as creamy vegemite. Put it and butter on a hardbread and mix together. Nice and salty and creamy. Hmmm... that almost sounds perverse.😕

I was in Australia in June and had the pleasure of tasting this stuff. It doesn't taste good at all, but then again I also don't like caviar. 😉

<< Who here remembers Men at Work on the radio and/or has a Vinyl LP of their album? Hearing the song while you were crapping your pants in your crib doesn't count. >>

hehe, hell, I remember it on the radio, and I was already losing my hair........LOLOL

Men at work had a pretty awesome song!!! but now they are a bunch of geesers and one of them is a School teacher!!

I have actually sampled a vegamite sandwich while in the appropriate municipality ("buying bread from a man in ..(?)..&quot😉. It tasted like crap there, too (in the 80s, on my honeymoon).

🙂

<< "He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich." >>

Seems to be an "acquired" taste, kind of like road-kill or tapioca pudding. I personally have not tried it, but signed up for the freebie and am looking forward to trying it. Hope I don't chunder.

Back in my Australian days I tried some of this. I rate it poor at best although the experience itself might be a hotdeal. It sure beats the fat, white maggots that I ate on that trip as well. 😛 vegemite almost seems edible compared to them...

<< As I recall, vegamite is a yeast extract.....MMMM, now doesnt that sound tasty? hehe >>

When you come right down to it, beer could be considered a yeast product too, eh?

Interesting site, but they don't specify whether their prices are in AU$ or US$, nor is there a conversion chart.

Got hooked on Vegiemite years ago after falling for a Aussie-girl.

Anyhoo....imagine Soy-Sauce....now make it into a jelly form. That's Vegiemite.
