Yea, everybody wants to be the first to post before the old brain kicks in. I knew about both of these trials a while ago but didn't bother posting them. Here are the real write ups for the trial information.

UNS are offering free access to their usenet servers for anybody this
weekend. So if you use your ISP nows a good chance to try out a
premium provider and to see it's benefits. The following is what UNS
have to say..

For this weekend only we have created a free three day trial account
that
anyone can access. No download limits, posts will be filtered.

Username: unstrial
Password: unstrial
Server: news.usenetserver.com

Feel free to post comments on the service. The account will expire
around
5pm EST on Sunday.

And the other one.

Maximum 64 connections per server on my side (total of 192
connections). This may change as I will be watching my bandwidth
usage closely.

This account will expire tomorrow (July 31st, 2005) after 9:00PM CDT
(August 1st, 2005 2:00AM UTC/GMT).

Maximum of 4 connections per connected IP address.

Each connection is 1Mbps for bandwidth limit. Amount of data transfer
allowed, though, is not metered. This is for article bodies.

Header download is limited to 1.5Mbps per connection.

Servername: news.octanews.com

username: ontrial
password: ontrial31337

Customer web interface does *not* work for this login.

Posting is not allowed, not even to the local groups.

Access to posting server is also not allowed.

Did someone forget you to tell that there is a prerequisite to ownage? You can't just walk in and declare it. Now get away from my MiG21.

Why do all you Usenet monkeys band together and say 'First rule of Usenet... ', etc. It's not hard for anyone to figure out it exists, and when they do, they'll come to the realization that I did -- that Usenet sucks nard.

QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Usenet fanatics can suck my left testicle.. that's rule number #2 BTW, and I didn't steal it from Fight Club.

Usenet is too complicated for a lot of people. You have to configure things and find a good program to use, but that's OK. Stick to what works for you.

Usenet is a far better way of gathering files than BitTorrent, genius.

You like sharing files as you download, having your connection congested and slow download speeds? Then stay with BitTorrent.

Yeah, so tell everyone about it right? So the RIAA or MPAA can get it shut down? Friends dont let stupid friends use Usenet. Once it becomes too easy it will be filled with morons, virii and other crap, just like the P2P networks.

I really wonder why Usenet hasn't been targetted yet?

Already is. But yeah, we don't need any more though.

virii and other crap, just like the P2P networks.

That's the great thing with the Usenet, users look out for each other. If a post is found to be bad or is a virus, many people are quick to point it out.

You're violating the basic rules of not keeping common knowledge a secret. Next thing you know the riaa will realize this common knowledge is a secret and bust everyone. So lets get this straight once and for all - this is common knowledge that *must* remain neither common, nor knowledge.
