Free to play MMORPGs, what one are you playing?

My bro started Age of Conan F2P and it's got quite a lot of stuff for a free MMO. I have a sub and we play together from time to time and he's got access to all regions from the original game.

They cut some stuff like bag size and you're limited to 4 classes (1 for each archetype) among other things but it got enough to keep you play for some time.

I usually keep 1 pay to play, and a few ftp games installed. Currently, no ptp ones though. Next one will be kotor.

I just reinstalled City of Hero's yesterday. Only logged on briefly to go through my game settings, and see how it was limited. The only thing that stands out of your limited to 5 global character slots, and you have to buy more of them. At least it let me choose which ones to unlock. Nothing else jumped out at me as being locked.

I also dabble in Runes of Magic, Perfect World, and recently, Forbidden World.

I played Atlantic Online for quite some time. Stopped when it started getting really grindy, which was level 95 or so.

I played Allods for a bit. Didn't really like it though. Don't think I made it past level 10.

LOTRO. Probably the best F2P game out there.

I just discovered last night some pango media something or other failing--trying to run in my background. I was like--wtf is this shit!?

I little goggling brought me to frothing-at-the-mouth angry board posts regarding LotRO f2p client installing this crap without any opt-opt--much less a single bit of notification that it was part of the package.

I uninstalled it. No idea if that does anything to my client, but...I don't care.

played runescape till about level 95 or so... then it got a complete overhaul and i didnt like it anymore.

i wish wow was f2p.

Yes, you can safely uninstall that. Don't know why Turbine uses that and doesn't make it clear, but I assume it's because they get kickbacks or it saves them on bandwidth fees.

I've been playing LOTRO on and off since f2p launched. It's a decent enough game and compared to most of the Asian import f2p games I've also tried, it seems to have one of the best f2p systems around in terms of being able to earn content in game.

With STO going to f2p, I just started a free trial (it's not f2p yet) and I think I'll probably come back to spend more time on it after the f2p conversion. It wouldn't be worth a monthly sub for me, but it's a perfect fit for occasional f2p play.

Pando Media Booster is a p2p filesharing system. Basically it downloads the game like a torrent from multiple users. It remains installed and "seeds" the client to other users who download it. Safe to uninstall you just don't seed then. LoL uses this as well as many other ftp games.

LOTRO. Well i started out f2p but started a subscription i liked it so much. Amazing world.

It is a pretty fun world. My problem is that I have no one to really play with -- my brothers claim they'll play but never do.

I'm on Elendimir if any ATers are on that server and want to play.
