Let's not pretend you're not a parrot for degenerate ideology.

I really don't know why you're angry at me. You ought to be mad as hell at Kathy Griffin. She's now given Trump supporters a poster child to roll out everytime they want to portray your side as being unreasonable and unhinged. Why give him that ammo? She screwed your side bigtime

As if he has ever displayed one...moral compass, that is.

I imagine he does have a moral compass in life. S/He's just fallen victim to partisanship. The same behavior that's viewed as disqualifying for a CNN contributor is fine for the president so long as the president is on the team.

Again, tribalism in the US is a sickness.

I don't care much for degenerates obliged to protect war criminals and treasonous klan leaders by proclaiming everyone is just as bad.

Entertainers be entertaining. Do they really care what griffin does, always found her a little annoying. With that in mind, I don't really care about this either.

Free speech covers this anyways.

GOP, still the party of short term memory loss, attacked Obama for 8 years on various levels. Turns out, Cons can only give it out, precious little snowflakes.

Alt lefties riot, assault people, shut down speeches, then get upset when someone tries to protect free speech? Not surprised. This law would protect anyone, not just conservatives. People have a riot to protest and such people who are speaking, there is a line though, and it's been crossed lately. From the "bike lock man" to a Vice President candidates son being arrested.

As for Griffin I didn't even know she was associated with CNN. The knife of freedom cuts both ways. No tears shed that CNN ditched her. Bet she didn't get a 25 million parachute like Billy Boy @ Fox News did...and he even potentially committed real crimes and his firing came with weeks worth of hand wringing on Fox's part.

It literally doesn't matter. All it means is we get a bit more variety when idiots try to justify every single thing they do with one thing they can repeat like a mantra to convince themselves that those lefties are bad and therefore deserve to be harmed.

Honestly it's getting kind of dreary getting worked up over whatever pretense is held when it doesn't matter, that's all interchangeable, it's the worldview that's going to get used to justify ever-increasing attempts to harm us.

Just the fact that Obama was president was all the reason Cons needed to hate Dems.

America is screwing itself, and here we are falling over another entertainer like it matters.

America is screwing itself, and here we are falling over another entertainer like it matters.

A big part of America screwing itself is based on this very topic. It's the tribalism, the polarization in all its glory. And the only "reason" people need to hate the "other" is their very existence. Full stop. Americans have lost or forgotten our common humanity and committed ourselves to some kind of jihad against one another.

I think it's a malady... a mental illness derived from our modern, constant, 24/7 communications bringing us into contact with the "others" and thus experiencing, learning (and failing) to cope with the expressed hostility of one another. The discomfort of such contact has raised mental barriers that the human psyche is simply not meant to maintain for extended periods of time... not without leading to insanity and barbarism. Now in our primitive flailing we want to silence this discomfort.

But the truth is the underlying issue is so much bigger than Kathy Griffin. Americans have stopped viewing each other as Americans.

It changed the narrative, at least for a day or two. This makes Trump look like the good guy. The best the Dems can do is fry Ted Nugent. Go after Nugent all day long if you like. I'm sure even Nugent himself would prefer it over going after Trump. He'll gladly serve in that role.

No question there's way too much hate out there and it's shown here on this site. Earlier someone equated disapproval ratings with hate. What the hell? Where does one get that mindset? I disapproved of the job Obama did but I didn't hate the man. I just disagreed with him politically.

Gee. All I said was that KG screwed up and she should apologize directly to the Trump family. Why you would find that disgusting I don't know

you said that he deserves an apology. It's a rather different claim when talking about POTUS. This is a historically accepted, rational, lawfully appropriate double standard when it comes to slurs against POTUS, specifically. I believe that Griffin went way overboard here. I think that every citizen would deserve an apology due to what this is, essentially, political criticism; but POTUS would not specifically deserve an apology (because it is protected criticism). Replace whatever bloody head with whatever human is occupying that POTUS seat, it doesn't matter. POTUS does not deserve an apology, which is what you claimed.

I personally think that she should apologize (simple human decency), but claiming that POTUS deserves such an apology is patently absurd.

Yeah, what a patriotic martyr that Nugent would be.

Trump's disapproval had been well-below 50% prior to being elected, and I promise you it will never crest 50%. The guy has, his entire life, been hated by most of the people that actually know him, outside of his family (but then you listen to some of their stories, you might be alarmed by what you hear, haha. Let's look at Ivana....).

How does one have such strong disapproval when they aren't even doing the job? There has always been a lot of hate for this man--it's simply long-published, long-understood fact. Why is it so difficult to accept these truths?

I disagree. I think given the nature of her protest, an apology is warranted. I'll go one further step. I think Trump is missing out on a PR opportunity here. He should offer forgiveness and invite her to the WH in an event kinda like Obama's beer summit. KG will most certainly refuse but it'd score Trump PR points. That's a part of the job that he hasn't embraced as of yet

Because your truths are not supported by the evidence. There are countless people that Trump has known for yrs who do not hate him such as Bill O'Reilly, Rudy Giulliani, Chris Christie, Bill Cunningham, Lou Dobbs, Tom Brady...

Right, but Obama was by all accounts I am aware of a decent human being. Just from the undisputed facts that are publicly available Trump is an absolutely monstrous human being. It's not surprising that people hate him when you combine a political disagreement with someone who is a pathological liar, a sex offender, etc.

I would hope even people as dedicated to defending him as you are can admit that he's a gravely immoral man.

You can't even admit Trump is immoral? Lol.

This thread keeps getting better and better. First you admit that you hold comedians to a higher standard than the president and now you can't even admit someone caught on tape bragging about how he sexually assaults women is an immoral person.

I get that you feel like people are ganging up on you and your back is against the wall so you don't want to give an inch but all you're doing now is embarrassing yourself.

I made no comment about the morality of the President or how he compares to comedians. I will state that we had a sorry choice to make last Nov. You would have a morality case to make against me regardless of which candidate I voted for. I'm not going there. Get a little better at baiting before you try it next time.
