This is an awesome, I've wanted to play Tribes 2 for a while, but didn't feel like buying it. I think there still are a decent number of people playing Tribes 2.

The source code for the game engine of Quake I and Quake II are free, but the actual games (which includes other stuff like graphics, levels, models, etc.) is not.

These need to be added to the main post. It's more than just two games with all the mods out there.

Racer - A free cross-platform car simulation project (for non-commercial use), using professional car physics papers to achieve a realistic feeling. Cars, tracks and such can be created relatively easy (compared to other, more closed, driving simulations). Editors and support programs are also available to get a very customizable and expandable simulator. OpenGL is used for rendering.


Pretty good simulation, with quite an established user-base, and lots of 3rd party cars/tracks 🙂

They should make CS free. It's been out for so long and HL2 and CS Source is coming out soon... they've made enough money off of the thing by now to make it free like Sierra is doing with Tribes.

I purchased the game a couple of years back, but at a LAN party about a year ago some ****er took my install disk, so when I built my computer recently I can't reinstall the game and only have the case now....

Oh yeah, I could just use someone else's install disc and my cd key... I'm smart!

Bottom line: the game should still be free.

I just got a key from that link. Thanks. However, I do not have the game installed. Do you know where I can download the full version of it? I tried FilePlanet, but they don't have it up for download anymore.
