Don't know if this is going to last long...but when i go to check out...all shipping are $0.00...including NEXTDAY AIR...
Has anyone else came across the same thing?
If it doens't come out...try playing around with your order...delete all items...then add one at a time and check...or close your browser then do it again...

Dell's website seems to do this often. However, your Dell order confirmation (the email after the order acknoledgement) usually reflects the correct amount of S&H for the overnight option.

I wish they had that when i ordered my router on saturday. I made the order saturday and it doesnt start shipping until wednesday? And its going UPS ground so that means it will get to CA pretty quick but get stopped at the UPS Hub for 3 more days just sitting there. Oh well. UPS is suck. USPS is so much more reliable than them lately...

hehehehe...so many poooor souls going to get ripped a new one...just like the ol' NICs....they'll SAY one thing...and BAM...U get something completely different! 😉

heheheh

GOOD LUCK to all you BRAVE nextdayshippers! 😉

God Bless

I ordered about $250 worth of stuff and when I received my confirmation email with the total, it says free next day shipping.

I've had the free next day shipping come up before two. One 2 19" viewsonic monitors. HAHA!!!! I just ordered 3 liteon 16x dvds free shipping next day came up again.

I had to play with it but it came up.

When my girlfriend needed a system for CAD, I got her a 21" Hitachi CM823F from Dell. To my shock, they offered free overnight shipping. I called Dell to confirm and they left a note on my account confirming the free overnight. Sure enough the 80lb beast arrived the next day and I was not charged shipping.

Dell was nice and shipped my 10 NICs for $8 shipped. I do appreaciate that, so I won't order any screws. They didn't screw me, so... 😉 If Dell has been good to you, don't hurt them too bad. 🙂 We need to have Dell around to keep competition alive!

Nack

Last time this worked for me I got charged for it (even though the website didnt show it)
Was too late to cancel when I found out, as it already shipped.

I ordered the TDK 32x on 4-10-02 (Wednesday), and it only showed FREE Ground shipping. Guess I was one of the unlucky ones. At least the discounts worked ($107.16 - rebate = $67.16). As of this moment, it still shows In-Production.🙁

I got my NICs.

If they don't give you the free next day shipping and when you call to cancel the order they tell you too late, we already shipped it, just tlel the UPS guy to "Return the package to sender". Don't accept delivery. They'll refund you your money. You could also just dispute the charge with your credit card company, provide them with a copy of your confirmation receipt saying the total.

They use FedEx for non-ground shipping and I understand FedEx cannot be refused like UPS.

Still, before placing my order I called Dell and the was informed if it shows $0.00 then I will not be charged and if I was it could be corrected later. My confirmation for Next-Day (from Software & Peripherals) still showed $0.00 and the correct total debit is still pending on my debit card though the package is already whisking its way to my grubby little mits.

Another note, which I mentioned in the other Dell thread is that the estimated ship date for my order was May 02 even though the item was in stock so I assume their estimation is based on building a system.

Wrong, I ordered something from Newegg.com who uses FedEx and while it was on it's way here, I changed my mind. When the FedEx guy came to deliver, I told him to return it to the sender and he did. Newegg credited me back all my money, including shipping.

You were just lucky, Most online retailers including Dell charge a restocking fee for refused shipments. This is in addition to the outbound S&H that they do not refund. If you want to get your all your money back on this deal you will have to dispute with your CC company and send them proof that Dell quoted no S&H charge on your order confirmation. Note the order confirmation is not the order acknoledgement email that Dell sends after your order. It is the snail mail paper receipt that they send you a week or two later. Since email is not considered a legal document in all 50 states most CC comapanies will not consider email correspondence in your dispute. Your best bet is to printout the webpage showing no overnight S&H as a backup if your CC does not accpet your email order acknoledgement
