umm...so you get a catalog? huh? how do you unsubscribe to it?

I also signed p the first day, and got a "sample box" today. It was in a small plastic case about as big as a zip disk. Good thing too as the box was crushed. But the 10 assorted LED's inside seem ok. THey also enclosed a letter saying they were out of the capability boxes.

I finally got mine the other day. Assortment of LEDs or various sizes and colors, and LCD panel, some LED series lights, strobes, this and that. Pretty cool, now what to do with all this?

I think I know why some people got them and some did not. I placed my order ( yes I got it , see below ) on the 3rd day after this was posted. I was "Inventive" in the "explain buisness" box. I said that I was a custom Cd-rom developer, and used custom LED's for lights and to power the drive. I also had them shipped to my home address but added a "Suite 320" in the address 2 line. That I think made it seem more like a real business addy.

Here is what was in my kit.

6 & 9 rings of Poly Led's
20 SMT Leds
4 Light Pipes ( Cool for computer cases! )
6 Ranch Units ( Led's in a black plastic row )
2 IR Diodes 1 recieving set
5 x 7 Led dot matrix
Single Large # counter
Dbl small # counter
large Light Bar
3 Panel Led's
12 Piece Led Array ( kinda like the thing on Night Riders Car but smaller
a Liquid cristal display ( looks like a calculator one )
about 30 regular green and red Led's
2 Small white leds
1 small blue led
2 Very Large white led's
1 large blue one
I huge Red one ( about an inch across)
And the best things = 3 Laser diodes. 1 visable ( red ) 2 IR Ones for Cd's
i requested them on that page i mentioned earlier.

this all came in a Purple box that was stuffed full. The cataloges also came with it. It doesnt look like you need to unsubscribe. these are very high quality Cataloges printed on some nice stock. I don't think they have a mailing list for these.

I wish everyone else luck. If anyone wants I can stop by this company during the week to see what is going on. There corprate hedquarters is close to me in Palantine Illinois. I will have to check them out. Maybe i can ask for a tour and get more cool stuff

Has nobody here ever heard about engineering samples before this? It's not a new thing, or just limited to Lumex... I'll bet half of you won't know what to do with the LEDs that you get.
