Well the Las Vegas event is full but it just so happens that they are holding it at the place I work at. Most likely I can at least stop by and take a look before they start but no free offers for me :(

Just registered for the Atlanta event. Better than sitting in the office all day (and still get paid :))

Roger that bunker! That's why I registered, rather than just registering for the CD. Not to mention a free catered meal as well! :D

sorry to ask again but what does evaluation code mean?

does it mean it's like the full version but only be able to use it for like 30 days

or is it the full version but you can only use it for personal use? not for like a business or anything like that

The copy of server03 I got at a technical preview is a one-year licensed copy. I assume that's what they'll distribute at the shows. However, my class was the day they sent to manufacturer, so I only have the final Beta. I wonder if you'll end up with the real deal.

When I went to the VS.NET event last year they gave away XP and VS.NET Academic before the show started. A ton of people just left after getting their stuff.

I decided to skip this event also. I was thinking of going but they're not really giving away any cool stuff.

I went to the Event in San Francisco today. It was really cool!

They gave everyone a travel/sidebag, a 6 month trial of Server 2003, and a lot of other cool things. They had really good food. Tons of drinks, ice cream, and cookies... yum! They also gave away mini radios and stuff from vendors. If you have they opportunity, i would recommend going to this.

the one in nyc (held yesterday) sucked compared to the winxp launch. no food. just drinks :D and instead of a NFR copy of Windows, it's a 180-day trial. Also got Office preview CD and Tablet Windows edition. Speakers were good though and so were the demonstrations. They even had a sign language translator.

I went to the one in San Francsico yesterday. I was going to blow it off, but I decided to go at the last minute. It was nice. The food was much much much better than the WinXP one I went to in Santa Clara. They had breakfast, lunch, snacks at the end of each session and an endless supply of sodas and juices. Although the food was still convention food so it still was not the best.

Steve Baumer(?) came out and gave a good little overview and then it broke out to the numerous session tracks. I went to the bathroom and missed the raffle for the 3 flatscreens. That was the thing that pissed me off. When I dropped off my card, the girl said that there would be a drawing at the end of each session. Then the speaker says that the drawing will be at the end at 6 pm. At the end, he says that the drawing happenned earlier. Whatever.

I went to the party last night as well. I expected it to be lame, but it was actually OK. Where else can you see a bunch of people hundled around playing Xboxes and ignoring the bands? They gave away a couple of laptops and a trip to Hawaii, but I didn't win. HP also gave away a lot and I mean *A LOT*, of digital cameras. Everywhere I looked, people were carrying around boxes of new 720's. How do I get one? They were also trying to give away a Mini Cooper, but no one would come up and take them up on it. They called 10 names, 5 names at a time. The deal was that someone in that final group of 5 would get the car and everyone in the group would get a Tablet PC from HP. I would have gone up just to get the Tablet PC. After about an hour of them trying to give away the car without any takers, I got bored and left. Did anyone stay? Were they finally able to give it away?

Anyways, I came away with an OK laptop bag. I haven't even looked to see what is inside. I also got a couple of self retracting cell phone handsets and a USB cell phone charger from Intel. They were just sitting there in boxes so I asked if I could take one of each. At the end on my way out, an Intel guy handed me another. That was wierd, normally things like that go instantly, but yesterday no one took em. I played with one last night and it seems decent.

What has the world come to? No one takes freebies anymore and people can't be bothered to walk a few feet to get a brand new car.

Yeah, I saw those. I looked through it but decided it would just be sitting on the shelf so I left it for someone else. They did go really quick. A few seconds after the guy put down a stack, it would be gone.

Ok, can someone tell me this clearly:

Are they giving out a F U L L version? Doesn't matter if it is NFR but those of you who attended a TS2-Win2k3 seminar, what EXACTLY did you get?

It is a full version, but it only works for 180 days.

In which case, it is only a trial version.

For those who did not get the confirmation E-mail, do this.
Check the msevents website for the status, if Registration status says confirmed then simply call the Regitration hotline at 1-877-673-8368 and they will give you the confirmation ID over the phone.

You just need the confirmation code and a picture ID to attend.

Any body going from DC area?
