You sir, know absolutely nothing of what you are talking about. I have had the opportunity to take part in a Billy Graham Crusade (in Louisville, KY, June 2001) and a Franklin Graham "Festival" (in Lexington, KY, Fall 2000)- they were run in both the same fashion. The people that you call "his members" are volunteers from local churches. They are not compensated in any way by Graham or his foundation. The volunteers (called counselors) watch to see if someone near them gets up and then follows the person down to the floor. Once down there, the counselors will explain to the people who got up what it means to be saved and such. If you think that this is deception, you are an idiot. you believe what you want, but the truth is billy graham uses deception in his crusades, does mr graham have all the signs of a false prophet? NO............. BUT the bible clearly states any such act of deception is a sign of a FALSE PHOPHET.

<< Obviously you don't have a clue how Billy Graham works, and you probably have never even tried to learn. All those donations at the crusades? He does not receive a PENNY of that. In fact, he receives NO money from any of the crusades. The money donated at crusades goes back into the local organizations who footed the bill to run the crusade. In every crusade, they publish in local newspapers summaries of all the expenses and how they are funded. If you cared to do a little research you could find all this out. >>

Old Billy's got you brainwashed well.

I love how free religious stuff spurs such heated debate. I'm betting it'll only be a matter of time before this thread such as many like it get locked.
Anybody remember tammy and whats his name? They did a lot of good in god's name right?

<< God loves thread crappers too! >>

I doubt if the thread crappers need your fantasy god. Their probably not so weak minded that they need a god to believe in.....Someone to guide them through their lame existence on earth & give them promises of eternal life in "heaven". I guess if life is that bad for you then you need someone to guide you through life and give you promises of a better life in "heaven".

<< Well, Actually God has me brainwashed, The real question is who has you brainwashed? >>

No one has me brainwashed. You must be very gullible if you can be brainwashed by someone that does not even exist.

<< VaG you seem like a very angry, unhappy person. Why is it, do you think, that you have so much hate inside you? Atheists usually preach "tolerance for opposing views and yet when a subject comes up that makes them uncomfortable they always seem to acquire an intolerant attitude?interesting. >>

I'll explain it to you in a way you can comprehend and believe: It's the work of the "devil". I'm sure it makes sense to you now. Right?

Where is this "truth" that he uses deception? What you said before is not the case at any of his crusades (ask anyone who has ever volunteered in one).

Even though I'm not a big Billy fan, this is interesting...

The notation about thread crapping in the title isn't appropriate, people will do what they want, thats why this is a forum where everyone can post to every thread, for any reason. Mentioning it only perpetuates it.

Interesting find....

<< Normally junk mail (Billy Graham or otherwise) includes postage-paid envelopes in hopes that you will send money for this or that. Instead, include the stuff that they sent to you (except for that which has your address, of course), and, if you'd like, include some of your other junk mail that did not come with it's own postage-paid envelope.

Send it aaaaallllllll back to them...on their dime. Don't worry if it's more than what one stamp would ship, as the billing is all done by the USPS. They'll bill them for the full amount.
>>

Yeah! And I make sure I STAPLE the crap out of it... In hopes it JAMS up USPS feeders!!! Thos postal phreaks should be canned!

If they wouldn't give these A$$'s such a big break in postage then we wouldn't be getting all this garbage. I say instead of raising the postage stamps, lets just hike up the junk/spam mail another 50 cents. We should be able to spank the crap out of the USPS for spamming our homes. I sure give a rash of crap when someone spams my mailbox... Why can't I do the same with the post office?

Everyone if you get junk mail! Please send it back with everything that came in it. And if there is more junk mail with out the free postage just cram all that crap back into the letter and duct tape it shut. Next I am going to start getting boxes and filling them up with bricks about 50 lbs worth and sticking the free mail on the side... Whoo Hoo!

and for this hot deal? No thanks, I already read the bible. I found it dry and boring.... After reading it... I came to the conclusion that...
God only helps those who help themselves...

Mods should lock this... AND the religious nuts who keep posting crap like this should keep it to themselves. Or better yet, go post it somewhere on their church web site...

Since everybody is already worked up (why are atheists clicking on the topic in the first place?), I might as well add this. lebe0024 from the epicurus thread posted this link:

Desiring God

Under Online Library, you'll find John Piper's amazing book Desiring God entirely reproduced online along with notes. Read what Christian Hedonism is all about.

Mods, however entertaining this thread is, I'd think it's clear to say that separation of church and hot deals should be set. It is quite hilarious to see some peoples reactions. The religion will always spark conflicts, this is not a conflict forum.

its amazing how nobody says..."hey you cant post threads about free condoms" or "hey no adult material here". But someone posts about religion and the @sswholes come out of the woodwork.. If you have no interest in this thread than why are you here??? Are you angry that your not being worshiped??? Just go back to looking in the mirror

breweyez: Does that make all church officals fools for trying to destory other religions? Seeking converts to your beliefs is destorying thebeliefs of others, at least minimizing them.

I don't believe the Declaration of Independence has anything in it about the separation of "condom" and "state" or "adult material" and "state", as one poster alluded to. Yes, religious threads should not be allowed. Also, christians are among the most INTOLLERANT people in the whole world! They have a habit of constantly saying they don't hate the "sinner", but hate the sin. They LOVE everyone.....yeah, right! If they had their way the whole country or world for that matter would be run by them and under their religous beliefs. Christians have a very INTOLLERANT past and present history.

Sorry for being mean I just do not ever remember Buddhists coming to my house and telling me how to live "MY" life.

And the fact that every Christian I know treats me like "you will be saved one day" like I am in some kind of phase.

Oh and as for thread crapping, your title made a HUGE TARGET that I am sure you created on purpose as Christians also like to argue more than anyone I know.

I am not religious but I find what is going on here repugnant.

If someone has a link for free books, so be it. They didnt do it in a Bible Thumper manner and tell you that you are going to hell. They just did it to be helpful. Some people wanted it. I think there would be less thread crapping if it was a free Communist Manifesto or Satanic bible. The even said dont click if you want to thread crap. I sure didnt click for a free book, but some people did. So be it.

People who crap on Billy Graham need help. I dont go to church and dont even consider myself a believer, but I think he is a class act of a person and people who put him down, need to look at themselves for a while first and serious rethink what they are doing.

taserT
Go find that separation of church and state in the Declaration of Indepedence and get back to us. And you think that is an reason to keep a thread about a free book off of here?

Doesnt it seem ironic when people say "Christians are intolerant...Dont let them post any free book deals"...Now come one, who is the one being intolerant.

RE: christians are among the most INTOLLERANT people in the whole world!

This should actually say *Ignorant* people are the most intollerant. (as the author of that statement proved).

It does not matter what faith you follow, that faith does not make you a good person or a bad person. Making stereotype statements about an entire group of people simply based on your limited experience with individuals who claim to belong to that group is, how do I say it... ignorant. :)

Thanks FrugalGuy for the link to the Free (as in hot deal) book

Fantome, i stand by my statement. You are right , tho, i should also have included "ignorant" along with intollerant...as your post testifies to. And fargopilot, i think what christians have done in the past and present clearly is NOT analogous to asking that religous stuff be/not be in Hot Deals! And you should refer to the post i was talking about as far as the Declaration of Independence goes. It sure is funny when people point out the problems with christianity they/we are classified as intolerant, ignorant, and any other number of derogatory tems. Does the term hypocrite come to mind?

If you think about it, Billy Graham has been one of the Few national preachers that seems to be spotless when it comes to corruption. God has placed His hand upon him and blessed him in a mighty way.

God has sent forth a message, That those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ, then they will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

There is only one way to enter the Kingdom and thats the way Billy has been proclaiming faithfully for a lifetime. I am awed and impressed by him.

I know my own inconsistency and his books gives reassurance to keep doing what is good and right. Thank you
