This book isn't free. Anybody that would read this book is probably one of the idiots who helped him build his fortune in the first place.
I can't wait until this thread gets locked.

"Is he willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is impotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Whence then is evil?" This quote should be attributed to David Hume's Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion.

Thanks a lot FrugalGuy

I love Billy Graham, what a great man to stand up and proclaim God's truth like he does.
The hostility demonstrated in this thread is a very powerful force, which I bet he feels every day.
What a Stud!

Normally junk mail (Billy Graham or otherwise) includes postage-paid envelopes in hopes that you will send money for this or that. Instead, include the stuff that they sent to you (except for that which has your address, of course), and, if you'd like, include some of your other junk mail that did not come with it's own postage-paid envelope.

Send it aaaaallllllll back to them...on their dime. Don't worry if it's more than what one stamp would ship, as the billing is all done by the USPS. They'll bill them for the full amount.

Just to respond to some of the specifically off-topic stuff that may nonetheless be interesting to those following this thread:

Those interested in the Problem of Evil as an objection to theism should follow the contemporary analysis of it more closely, especially the consensus-shifting work of Al Plantinga. (The latest discussion I've followed is in The Evidential Problem of Evil, I believe it's called -- the successor to the defeated logical and probablistic arguments from evil.)

The consensus -- for whatever it's worth (if history is any guide, not much ;)) -- in contemporary philosophy is that there is no compelling argument from evil that shows either that there is no God, nor even merely that probably there is no God.

Obviously, some (I don't think most) atheists disagree, however.

This is a radical turnaround from the situation in the 30's through the 60s, when logical positivism and its kin reigned supreme, and it was condescendingly taken for granted that either "God" was meaningless, or if meaningful, demonstrably (via evil) non-existent. Now, suprisingly, the Society of Christian Philosophers is the largest sub-group of the American Philosophical Association (or at least was last I knew).

(For a quick overview of Plantinga's take on this and a few other issues, see his Advice to Christian Philosophers.)

Yea, I think this guy has some wacked out ideas, but FREE is FREE.....(which gives the sender the right to spam also I guess)

This is a HOT DEAL - - - - - For the people that like the guy

I'd write Christianity off right away if it wasn't the source of soooooo much hatred.......it's like the guy who makes all his ex-girlfriends angry.....makes you wonder why they get so angry..........oh well, I'm still having trouble believing the world is round and not FLAT like my papa told me.

Why don't we send more hate-mail to those wacky Jehovah's or Mormons

And why don't we see as many FREE anti-religious books??????

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

-- Epicurus"

very wise, a bump for those who may find a book like this useful. I wonder if reading a book can ever be a bad thing, even if you disagree with the author -- I would personally doubt it :)

Obviously you don't have a clue how Billy Graham works, and you probably have never even tried to learn. All those donations at the crusades? He does not receive a PENNY of that. In fact, he receives NO money from any of the crusades. The money donated at crusades goes back into the local organizations who footed the bill to run the crusade. In every crusade, they publish in local newspapers summaries of all the expenses and how they are funded. If you cared to do a little research you could find all this out.

I don't like the fact that it is determined to get your email address. (having you type it twice). It won't even accept an address I use to control spam. I assume they will use it to spam you.

If they truely want to give these away, they shouldn't even be requiring an email address.

just a question of religion 101. christianity is based on dualism, or manichism, meaning good/evil, light/dark, heaven/hell, what is the antithetical aspect of satan?

I just don't think this really belongs in this forum... yes free is free, but so is getting a Watchtower if you ask for it (and then kick them off your porch). I suppose it could be worse; it could be a book from Jerry Falwell. :)

EDIT: MODS: Lock this.
EDIT2: I'll just keep editing this one post so this thread hopefully sinks fast.

<< billy gram is a false prohet. how do i know you ask, well the bible clearly states how to spot a false prophet and one of the tactics gram uses is deception, how you ask, well when he asks if you want to be saved to come on down to him, he then has his members planted in the crowd get up and come down to him like they are being saved, this in turn motivates other people to get up and get saved. some of you may look at this as he is just helping them find there way, right? i dont think so, his steps are those of a false prophet, and for that he will go to hell for eternity. but this is a hot deal, straight from the devil.:Q >>

You sir, know absolutely nothing of what you are talking about. I have had the opportunity to take part in a Billy Graham Crusade (in Louisville, KY, June 2001) and a Franklin Graham "Festival" (in Lexington, KY, Fall 2000)- they were run in both the same fashion. The people that you call "his members" are volunteers from local churches. They are not compensated in any way by Graham or his foundation. The volunteers (called counselors) watch to see if someone near them gets up and then follows the person down to the floor. Once down there, the counselors will explain to the people who got up what it means to be saved and such. If you think that this is deception, you are an idiot.

Also another thing about false prophets. The Bible also states that false prophets will give credit to themselves only, not to God. True workers of God take no credit for their works, but give the credit to God. If you listen to either of the Grahams, they will give the credit to God.
