I just grabbed this as well. 2 of the 4 ports on my Linksys router are dead, so adding 8 more ports via the uplink is just what the doctor ordered! Thanks!

Got mine in 3 days. Not a bad unit for $5 shipping. Rebate is in the mail. The price on these seems to vary from day to day. Right after I bought mine it went to $28 and yesterday it was $26. Works great as an extension to my router.

Yeah, great switch, just received mine today. This is just what I was looking for! I just plugged in the cable from my 4-port router, it automatically recognized it as the uplink. Then I have two 14" Cat6 cables, one going to my computer, one going to my XBOX, which I run through my Geforce 4 Ti4200 and Soundblaster Audigy 2 platinum via optical cable (5.1 for the box, baby!).

I concur on the quality of this switch. I just got mine, and it is small and light, but works like a champ.

I received my switch. The AC Adapter didn't fit with the base unit. Really interesting problem. Newegg's service has been wonderful so far, but I suppose I shouldn't rate it until the whole return is completed.

Erm, for the rebate, do I send in the invoice or the packing list? The rebate form just says 'receipt'.

There was a link to the rebate on newegg, on the page listing items they have for sale.

anybody's switch make a "hissing" sound? odd user report gleaned from some no-name site on the web.

I could get an intel IBusiness 8-port 10/100 for $20 cash locally instead...

I'm not sure how to take that face... $8 router is good, but anything that makes annoying noise would be less good.

$5.00 shipping?!

Are they wrapping it in gold? Glad I picked one up at the local PC Club instead of getting raped on shipping like that.

I believe FedEx 3 Day shipping has a base price of approximately $8.00. Considering this product is free after rebate (a rebate form which specifically mentions Newegg, so Newegg negotiated the deal for thier customers to make it free), giving them $5 to ship it across the country (in my case at least) is very understandable. Even with say, a good deal from FedEx for bulk shipment volume AND the American Express merchant FedEx discount, $5 is probably their actual shipping cost.
