No, "failed" is your lame attempt to dismiss Franken for both his past success and his present excellent performance as a Senator, for which he is very well paid and for which he receives excellent PUBLICLY FUNDED health care.

Al Franken is a very savvy smart politician... who just happens to have a sense of humor.
You need to get the details in the correct order.
He is not a would-be actor or comedian, that wanted to be a senator.

I'm getting irritated of hearing "We have the best cancer survival rates" mainly because it vastly oversimplifies a complex issue. It depends on the age group, and adults age 18-40 (who are often uninsured) have had their survival rates stagnant or even backslide since the 1970s, despite all the medical advancements. If you're talking about Franken, he's not a geezer. If you're talking about me, you really don't know your ass from that hole you keep digging for yourself. I'm just a kid of 68. I'm 6'2", standing tall at 183 lbs of lean with my full head of rock 'n' roll length hair. I just got back from my physical, a couple of hours ago, and the doc says I'm in great shape.
We all have only the age we're given. I'll take my geezerhood as it is and be glad that, other than my siblings who share the genetic good fortune, I'm in better shape than the majority of people I know anywhere near my age.
If that was the best insult you can manage, go home and practice, little boy.
