UNITED NATIONS ? France proposed strengthening weapons inspections in Iraq, including tripling the number of inspectors and placing a full-time monitor in Baghdad to oversee the process, after hearing Secretary of State Colin Powell's presentation Wednesday on Iraq's failure to disarm.

So Iraq have blantantly in violation of UN's resolution, and the Frenchie said "Ok, we'll just place more observer so hopefully we can catch you AGAIN in the future....."

maybe they can send more frenchies before the bombs start falling?

The world sees what Iraq has done. Powell made the case. The UN can go along and support the US miltary overthrow of Saddam, or not. WHO CARES!!?? It's a done deal. Iraq, France and Germany have embarassed themselves. We do not need anymore inspections or inspectors. Powell exposed the cat and mouse game, the game of hide the contriband, with both audible and visual means.

It is done.

I like this part:

"Given the choice between military intervention and an inspections regime that is inadequate because of a failure to co-operate on Iraq's part, we must choose the decisive reinforcement of the means of inspections," de Villepin said.

So, you agree that Iraq has failed to cooperate and has violated the 17th UN resolution. Your response after the last "We really really mean it this time" resolution is to propose a new round of inspections which would require yet a resolution stating, "Now this time we really really really triple-dog dare mean it."

And, how are inspections decisive? Anyone, anyone?

Ever seen the auction for the military issued French rifle...never fired and only dropped once?

France doesn't want to get involved because they have gotten their ass kicked in every war they have had 😉

france didn't even advocate war right before they got conquered by germany in WWII, this is really no surprise.

We should just take over France and move all of their people to Iraq. Then we can kill two cultures with one nuke😀

Got to hand it to them though, through outrageous amount of whining, pleading and crying, they've succeeded to end up in the winning side in the last 2 world wars...

I think the French are scared of their own muslim population, we don't need them anyways.

Is there a way to kick them off the security counsel???

🙁 that's not very nice

Instead, why don't we just move all of the Iraq peoples to France and let them take care of them. Then we'll split the oil with all of our Allies. 😀

OH but you have to remember they didn't do too much to help themselves. They were on the winning side because everyone joined their side. 🙂
