I will be totally honest: I could care less about soccer from a fan's perspective (altough many of my friends love it and the WC, baseball has always been my sport) but I am really getting into it this year from a patriotic and nationalistic perspective. With France out of the way, the king of European anti-Semetism has fallen much like it did back in WW2, without so much as a fight. Now with the Italians and Argentinians on the verge of elimination and the US on the verge of advancing, it really makes one love this sport and have some faith in divine retrubution or cosmic scale balancing or some such hooey 🙂 .

'Shroom, ya gotta be kidding. In France, not even the pigs are subjected to rotten tomatoes, or any other mediocre consumable. More likely, the French team will be pelted with slightly below perfect foie-gras.

I'm happy that we won (I'm a Dane) but I do feel that the French could have done better, ought to have done better. Just shows that we've got a good team this time and theirs aren't as good as it could be/used to be.
 
Anyone want to buy my french rifle? It is in great shape - never been fired and only dropped once...

I admire your team's defense and the two goals they scored were very well-connected and well-deserved.

It's too bad that France couldn't do any better. It really looked as though they were cursed in this World Cup. I feel sorry for Zidane falling in that perfect chance, that shot that went over a few inches above the post, and that other French shot that bounced off the top post.

Now I just wish that Argentina kicks Sweden's ass and advance. 😀
 
Oh Shut up ElFenix. Are you denying that anti-semetism is rampant in France? Are you saying that 500 incidences of anti-Semetism have NOT occured in France in the last few months? Are you saying that Le-Pen did not have 20% support from the French people? On top of that, the French people have done virtually NOTHING to curb the rampant anti-Semetic incidents that have left hundreds businessless, thousands without a synagogue and hundreds of thousands in fear because of their beliefs. So allow me to reiterate:

HA HA, France got knocked out of the World Cup!

Italy is always on the brink of elimination in the first round. They start slow, but when they beat mexico and make it into the next round they will be unstoppable.

Totti and Vieri are absolutly amazing, Vieri will score every game, and Totti is probably the best playmaker in the world. With Nesta back the defense will be a wall again, and with Inzaghi back to health, and Del Piero ready their offense is loaded.
